Serves meat, vegan options available. Very nice Indian food restaurant. Menu includes a vegetarian dishes section. The space is small, so it is advisable to make reservation. Open Wed-Sun 12:00-14:00, 18:00-21:30.
Closed Mon-Tue.
A warm welcome was received although
no reservation previously made. English was spoken by helpful staff and guidance given on vegan options. We had Tardka Dahl, Jal Frezi plus the cauliflower and potato dish which name suddenly escapes me. Rice accompanied these dishes and although on the expensive side, portions were generous. Poppadoms were also ordered and came with a dipping saucer of tamarind sauce. The ambiance was lovely, we felt at ease and simply had a delightful meal washed down with a 20cl carafe (each) of local red wine. What more could we want? If you fancy vegan option Indian food in Baden-Baden, Germany, this place would do you proud!
Lovely restaurant with vegan options marked - Edit
The menu items which could be made vegan were marked on the menu. The staff member who took our order seemed to understand but then came back and asked it we wanted lamb or chicken in the biriyani. We were confused and checked that he understood that we wanted all vegan, but he insisted on asking and so we thought maybe they had fake meat and said chicken if it was vegan. Luckily the manager then came over to tell us we couldn't have a vegan dish with chicken (they didn't have fake meat) and clarify it all. The food was delivered promptly, was delicious and everything else went smoothly.
We were lucky enough to be served by a vegan member of staff who was super helpful and advised us what could be made vegan. Offered extra chutney and suggested vegan roti bread. Food was good, a little oily but delicious.
I had a very rude welcome at this restaurant - when I asked whether I could sit on one of the many vacant tables outside I was simply told "no"...with no further explanation from the manager man. Perhaps it was a lost-in-translation moment, but it felt quite rude.
Luckily the food was tasty, if not slightly over-priced for what it is.
