A restaurant with 3 names… - Edit
So this place is either called Timnit or Naitil or Anautil depending on where you look or who you ask. The sign outside says Timnit but google maps says Naitil… yeah I dunno, this is Mauritania after all. Pretty loose “restaurant”, some guys hanging around outside said they could cook for us there and they understood what vegetarian was. And with a little google translation explanation they grasped vegan as well. They made us vegan leksour which is a Mauritania dish of stew served on top of pancakes. The traditional recipe for the pancakes is vegan but we still made sure to specify no eggs etc. It was good and I’m glad I got to try this Mauritanian dish while I was in the country. I’m sure they can make more veggie dishes there as well if you request it.
