cute place, amazing food

we had two salads. they tasted really fresh and delicious. the vignarette was especially great. they served it with beet-root-tahini and home-made-bread.

they have home-made lemonade, you can sweeten it yourself with syrup if you want. we also got the carrot cake, it was nearly perfect.

most of the food is vegan, the waitress was very helpful and the prices are reasonable

Pros: food tasted delicious, fresh / healthy, plenty of vegan options

Big amazing dishes

This place is sure 100% vegan they told me, so maybe to change it! ;)
I took the vegan lasange and it was really nice, or no I took the soy-mushroom cutlet with veggies both were so big and great, athmosphere is great too!!!

Service can be funny, but the owner or manager took it over!

Healthy, Delicious, and Special

My wife loves this place, I enjoy it, but not to the same degree. The difference between us is I prefer places which have fake meats and she loves healthy tasty vegan/vegetarian food where you can taste the beans/sprouts/etc which aren't trying to duplicate meat recipes. Nagila is such a restaurant. It offers unique flavors and entrees, which taste good, fresh, and healthy.

We've tried most of the menu here. My favorite is Savta Fania's meatballs which comes in a flavorful okra-tomato sauce. I also like the Yum-burger, which is a vegan burger. It comes on a roll with good fixings and a pesto sauce. If you;re looking for something that taste like a burger, than the YumBurger isn;t for you. It is rather beany/grainy and falls apart pretty easily, but it tastes delicious and is a healthy portioned big burger. My wife really likes the french cheese toast, and is a fan of the Nagila Salad which is REALLY good. The only food we found disappointing was the coconut curry stew, which was really lacking flavor for a curry, and the broccoli was either overcooked or not fresh.

Overall, the place is solid, great for families, friends, dates, or work meetings. The location is great on a quiet street a few blocks away from the center of the shuk. It has a really nice atmosphere, with outdoor tables which are private, it has tables indoors and even has two little booth areas where you can have your own mini room looking out the window. Its unique and utterly charming. While I wish they had a bigger menu with more options, or a Special of the Day, the food is quality. Good portions, affordable prices, and everything tastes fresh and home made, its the kind of places where you feel more invigorated after eating there and your body thanks you. The service is also always warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. It feels like a small family run restaurant.

In Jerusalem there are three types of Veg restaurants: "The Kosher dairy places" (which happen to have some vege stuff like pasta/pizza), "fake meat places", and a few healthy vegetarian restaurants, which have vegan options and don't translate wholesome vegetarian food as pasta/pizza. Personally, I like the fake meat places. That being said in terms of quality, price, and atmosphere, this place really outdoes its longstanding Jerusalem mainstay competitors as the top wholesome vegetarian restaurant in the capital.

Pros: Healthy & Tasty, Great service & atmosphere, Affordable & Unique

Cons: Menu's too small

Good food, interesting flavors, fresh ingrediants

Had lunch at Nagila this past Friday. Food was good and varied. We ordered salads, baked entrees and vegi-cutlets and were pleased with all. Service somewhat slow but the food was worth the wait. Portion sizes average. Great location close to center of town and the "davidka" light rail stop.

Pros: Good food

Perfect

The atmosphere here is wonderful. The restaurant is somewhat hidden, in a quieter in street, so you're in the center but feel some respite. The service is friendly and calm. The food is... well, I just keep getting the vegan mousaka every time I come.

Nuanced Flavors

Delightful restaurant tucked in a small side street off Agrippas next to a number of other establishments. Food was very nicely prepared, with a nice balance of spices. Not your average vegetarian spot. Worth a visit.

Excellent, creative cuisine & superb atmosphere

We ate here twice in two days while in Jerusalem. The vegan homemade pasta with coconut cream sweet potato sauce was our favorite! The carrot cake dessert was also delicious. The staff are helpful, vegan options are clearly marked, and the staff suggested even more vegan possibilities. This is a really nice Italian-ish, Israeli, Mediterranean place. Perfect for a romantic dinner or for relaxing after a long day of sight-seeing. The quality of the food is very good: small batches, home made, creative seasonings. We will definitely be back!

Pros: Many vegan options, Creative vegan options, Cute, romantic ambiance

Found this amazing place close to work and am a regular since! Everything is fresh, healthy and flavorful, made by hand. Once you get to know the owners you see how much care and love the food is made with.
Set in a beautiful old stone building, definitely a must when in Jerusalem. Enjoy!
