Serves meat, vegan options available. Indian restaurant with several vegan options such as chana masala and aloo matar. Open Mon-Sun 11:00am-3:00pm, Mon-Thu 5:00pm-9:30pm, Fri-Sat 5:00pm-10:00pm, Sun 5:00pm-9:00pm.
Food was excellent but I admit, I was nervous our waiter, who didn’t speak English well, didn’t fully understand what vegan means. After explaining we’re vegan, plant-based (plus I said no meat, dairy, fish, eggs), he explained menu and seemed accommodating. But then we asked if they had hot tea, said yes and some Indian name of tea. We ordered two while we decided what to get. He brought it and it looked like cream added. I asked if it was non-dairy milk, he said no, it’s milk powder. Can’t make it without because it’s a machine.
That’s why I was nervous he didn’t understand what I meant. Menu labels vegetarian (with dairy) but they can remove dairy from some items, so ask and be specific!
This is the best place in North Charleston. We’ll deserving of a 5 star review but not fully vegan. We came on Mother’s Day when they were newly opened. They were extremely busy but friendly and helpful encouraging me to order a la crate to have more vegan options. I’m so thoroughly impressed. I wanted to do a happy dance whole I ate.
