Pretty good buffet-style restaurant - Edit

Atmosphere:
Busy with locals. A small Chinese health food store inside. Food is buffet-style and mostly lukewarm. Served from bain Maries. When you enter, nobody will tell you what to do so just grab a thali plate and copy everyone else – serve yourself what you want from about 18+ choices. There are staff on hand to help and will explain what the dishes are, although little English is spoken. There is a big bucket of rice and also soya milk and cold sweet tea available – serve yourself style. Once you sit down, a member of staff should come and eye your meal, totting up your choices. Adverts for health products sit under the glass tops of the tables. The eating space is clean but not as “white and bright” as the Loving Hut – this is an everyday dining venue for locals.

Food:
As there is no set menu, we just chose whichever dishes we liked the look of from a wide variety of tempeh, tofu, fake meats, cooked greens and even some jackfruit. For example, we chose battered aubergines, green beans with chili, tofu and tomato, tempeh strips with lime leaves, morning glory with fake mince chicken, mild sweet tofu and curried jackfruit. One of us disliked the flavours, the other one enjoyed them. Everything was fresh and some dishes were more spicy than others.

Cost:
We each chose four dishes and rice and we also had one soya milk and one iced tea. Total cost: 58,653r.

Portion size:
Whatever you make it!

Pros: Wide range , Very cheap , Nice atmosphere

Cons: Food lukewarm , Some dishes better than others...

nothing special - Edit

the place in it self is clean and has a big variety of food, but for what i did taste is all sweet and with chunky peace of ginger everywhere. the ginger did look like was not even washed or peeled. Most luckily they use plenty of sugar in their cooking. When i went there, there was not toilet paper in the bathroom and the sink to wash your hands would not almost work.

Awesome lucky find - Edit

Found this place on our last night in Medan. We wish we had found it earlier. Buffet was great and the staff lovely. Recommend
