Good vegan options - Edit
I went there for lunch and later for dinner.
Read moreAt lunch they had a daily menu consisting of a starter then a main course with two options, one of them being vegan. Don't know if it's the case everyday though.
For dinner I got the curry which was good and really beautifully presented.
Pros: Everything is really beautiful

Delicious - Edit
Fine dining, so definitely pricier. Portions were definitely small, but that’s usually how it works with fine dining. Sat outside right on the water with a nice view. I got some lemonade that changed colors upon adding some other ingredient. I did not like the lemonade at all, however, the food was incredible. I got the curry El junco and I absolutely loved it. I’ve never tried curry before, either. It came with a rice and bean side as well as some pickles and onions to add, and a chili sauce on the side. The chili sauce was too spicy for my liking but the curry and rice were incredible. Highly recommend.

This place is top notch for a quality fancy meal without breaking the bank. Staff understands the meaning of Vegan and they create beautiful works of art with their plates. Food is full of textures and flavors. Highly recommend. #Veganuary

Quality Eatery - Edit
Very stylish restaurant with great vegan choices with great service, nice wines and a beautiful outlook over the bay. Expensive but worth it 😀 the curry was exceptional with locally grown ingredients and the roasted vegetables was a treasure. A great restaurant for a special occasion!

Incredible meal beautifully presented and so tasty!!! - Edit
We loved our experience here. Lots of vegan options and the staff understood vegan. Service was not slow. It was a good pace for this type of restaurant. Lovely music played to accompany the sounds of the sea lions. The main courses were deliscious. We had the curry and the vegan roast along with an entree

Exceptional food - Farm & Forest to Table Concept - Edit
I don't know where to start but all dishes we had were exceptional in flavour but also in presentation. It is pricey - yes, but it is worth every penny. There are a lot of different textures and aromas on each single plate and they use up the whole fruit and vegetable. We were blown away and highly recommend this place for one or more special nights out. Service staff are absolutely incredible and could not be more friendly and attentive.

Definitely Fine Dining - Edit
Upscale restaurant, definitely pricier than most places. The food is DELICIOUS 🤤 but small portions (as to expect from fine dining). I had the veggie curry which I asked for vegan...a lot of things can be made vegan...but be aware that once you start making lots of changes to something, the meal really isn't the same. Stick with what they have that is either naturally a vegan dish, or that you only have to ask for without cheese. The lemongrass coconut milk drink was also sooooo good....but I'd ask for little ice, as an $8 drink it was mainly ice. Overall everything tasted great, but we unfortunately left still a bit hungry as we didn't want to spend alot...mainly just try it out. Would recommend for a special occasion or those with a bit more cash to spare.

Many vegan options - Edit
We got two starters: yuca fries and then a "farm tartare" which came with patacones. Both we good but the farm tartare was especially good. For the main I had a roasted jackfruit which came with a coconut sauce and fried rice and my bf got a veggie curry that included smoked tofu. It's pricey for Ecuador but if you're coming from the US it wasn't anything crazy. We thought it was worth the splurge, especially since vegan food is not easy to find in the Galapagos.

Fancy restaurant with vegan options - Edit
It is a special place to go if you’re on the island. It’s more expensive than other restaurants in the area but it is more finer dining feels. I got the roasted jackfruit which was really good and interesting, I’d recommend. There were other options as well such as a beyond meat burger and tofu dishes.

Definitely not a place to go - Edit
Waitress said vegetarian burger (beyond meat) could be vegan (specified without milk, cheese or eggs). But burger comes out with cheese in it, brioche bun (as another post mentions) and some cream sauce for the plantain chips. Really bad service here

You'll wait for your food.... and it may not be vegan... - Edit
This is a nice restaurant, with nice options, but my gosh, the service here is SOOOO SLLLOOOWWWW!! It wasn't just me, I saw all the tables around me getting a little bit impatient. I sat down and waited almost 10 minutes before someone even came to see me and give me a menu, then about 10 minutes later take my order, even when I asked at the bar to order. The food itself was nice (although it did also take a long time to come).
Read moreThey had 2 options on the menu, one jackfruit stew and one beyond meat burger. So I got one, and planned to return the next night to have the second (I even said this to the staff!). I returned the next night, say down, waited about 10 minutes again (this time I expected the wait). But when they finally came to me they said they weren't doing food tonight, just drinks.... so I was a but annoyed at that. And they didn't tell me the evening before.... it's a nice place if you have the patience!!
Additionally... the beyond meat burger turned out not to be vegan, it *doesn't* mention cheese on the menu at all, and when I ordered I did ask "is this vegan?", but it arrived with cheese on it, and on a brioche bun... but tbh I at this stage of my galapagos food journey, I was just happy for any vegetarian meal 🤣 it's been hard work haha
Pros: Nice restaurant , Well presented "fancy" food
Cons: Very expensive , Staff don't seem to understand vegan, Extremely slow service

Awesome food, location, service - Edit
An excellent restaurant with high quality and a friendly vibe, with the staff fully understanding the difference between vegan and vegetarian. We went twice for breakfast and once for lunch over a few days - every time the service was outstanding, and the food and drinks fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. The food and philosophy is local and the location is perfect - with a direct view of the bay and the sea lions frolicking on the beach right out front. The place looks more expensive but we found it to be very well priced for breakfast and the same as other restaurants for lunch. We left happy and satisfied every time.

Fancy - Edit
Upmarket restaurant. Despite Vs on most menu items only a couple could be made vegan (all contained fish/seafood in original version). So, underwhelming options. I chose the salad ($13) and bread ($6.5) which together was actually a good meal. The salad contains grilled veg, leafy greens, and edible flowers and is served with delicious guacamole and tortilla chips. The bread was actually a whole basket of lightly toasted very good bread (not common in South America), served with lemon oil and avocado (non-vegan option was herbed butter).

Best vegan food on the island - Edit
The food is delicious and the wait staff is knowledgable about the vegan diet. Most of the menu items have a vegan version. Portions are large; definitely worth the price (~$10 for appetizers and ~$25 for main courses).

Best restaurant in the Galapagos Islands - Edit
Everybody, make sure to visit this amazing place when you are in Galapagos! In our one-year-long honeymoon trip across the Americas we have not found any other restaurant that would come close to Muyu! We were so enchanted by the great service and the delicious and wonderfully presented food that we literally came back every single day of our stay in San Cristobal and Muyu did not cease to impress. To the contrary, on our last night, they surprised us with a custom-made vegan menu that the chef came up with just for us, as we have tried all their beautiful vegan dishes from the menu before… A huge and heartfelt thank you to the whole team, especially to our charming maître, Paulo for treating us like friends (even showing us around in the lovely rooftop garden!) and taking so good care of us every day! We wish Muyu (or new sister restaurant of hers) was somewhere closer to us in Europe, we would be regulars for sure!
