Yummy vegan food! - Edit
I loved this little restaurant! It has Japanese and Ecuadorean food as well as other dishes. I had a Japanese dish to start that was tiny (see the rice dish) turns out it was the only small dish on the menu so I also ordered a pasta with vegan bechamel sauce! Both were delicious! I also had a very yummy blueberry soya milkshake 😋

We tried to go here for dinner, but they were closed doing some renovations, so we came back the next night. It was a weird vibe not sure if it was open or not but then the owner seated us, there were no menus - which meant to prices, just what we were told. The owner just listed a few things he could make. The food itself was bland and basic and when we went to pay he told us a higher price (not sure if intentional or honest mistake).

My family goes to the restaurant a freaking lot and the food is really good (and only costs 9 soles)!! The only downfall is that the food can be too little so I finish a little hungry still.

Read moreKind of a typical meal you would find at just about any vegetarian restaurant in Peru. As of March 2020 the price for the meal of the day is 8 soles. For 12 soles you also get a starter plate, dessert and a better drink than the simple hot tea that comes with the cheaper meal.

There were two options for starter (soup or salad) and two for main dish. The tea was also included. All the food was delicious. 8 soles (2,5 usd). Good location, good service.

I've been there twice, and both times I've had really tasty food. The only problem I find with this place is that the kitchen (and usually staff) is upstairs, so it may take some time to be served if you don't try to call their attention. Price is good, location too (near the Main Square).

Our favorite lunch meal in Peru - Edit
We have been traveling in Peru for a month now, and this place was by far our favorite. 2 beautiful, fresh and well-seasoned dishes and an unsweetened ice-tea for only 8 soles each for lunch.

I ate here thrice (one menu lunch and two dinners) and received good food and great service every time. Lomo Salteado and Bistek were a little too salty but the food in general was excellent and very well presented. The wait-staff girl speaks very good English and is very helpful.

We had their menu of the day and it was amazing. Full of veggies, very fresh and super cheap. One of the best places I have eaten in Peru. The place was packed out with locals at lunch time which was good to see.

I arrived late to have dinner and ordered a sandwich and a smoothie, as I was not so hungry.
Read moreBut it was not tasty at all. The bread was untoasted toast and the veggies in between came without spices.
The smoothie was tasty though, so I think maybe something else is tastier, but I did not had the want to go there again after this sandwich.
The staff was friendly but dreamy and the atmosphere was nice too, but loud street sound.

If I could give this restaurant no stars, maybe even minus one star, I would. This was the worst restaurant I'd been to in Peru. We came here for dinner, specifically looking for it after reading previous reviews. There was only one other couple there when we arrived. Nonetheless, it took an hour for my husband's order to arrive. Another two people arrived, ordered, ate, and paid in that time. Was it worth the wait? If you like a tiny portion and no flavour. It would appear that being vegan means having no taste. Drinks came and they were watery and warm. After my husband had finished his meal and we were still waiting, we asked where my meal was. It turned out the waitress had forgotten. She only had two dishes to remember and she forgot one! There was no apology, no embarrassment. She did give us the bill quite quickly but then proceeded to give us our change in as many coins as she could find. I can only imagine that the restaurant was tired of serving customers and was trying to discourage them.

Welcome surprise in Trujillo! - Edit
Nice spot not far from the plaza de armas in Trujillo. Tasty food, nice staff, cheap prices. I had the salteado mixto which was big and delicious. The ponche drinks are great, as are the desserts.

The menu of the day (10 soles) included soup, salad, rice and 2 choices (we had some kind of saucy bean and soy meat) and fruit and granola for dessert. Everything was fresh. The service was so quick too. Left very satisfied!

A gem in Trujillo - Edit
Trujillo isn't the best town when it comes to cosy restaurants and cafes serving vegan food. So it was amazing to find a place like Muya Musquy where everything they served was 100% plant-based. Menu of the day was 10 soles and was served until 5pm - entree, soup, main, dessert and drink. For 6 soles you could get soup and main. Food was good, typical, and locally sourced. We tried some à la carte dishes like the burger (patty and guacamole were delicious but the bread bun was too big), the salad with huarainica sauce was refreshing and served with a creamy cashew dressing. Special mention to their smoothies all served with granola.

we ate lunch there, the 'deluxe' version :) with salad, soup, main course and dessert for 15 soles. all was very yummi. we also took out some filled pies for the bus ride to lima... very good!
