Karn’t Really Complain

Friday night feast time and what better way to do that than with an Indian takeaway? Another longstanding target of mine, I was keen to see how this place would measure up to its contemporaries in the area. Obviously, as ever, I ordered a ridiculous amount, and my first foray into the payload that lay before saw me return with the various array of bhajias (every restaurant seems to have a different variation of spelling on these!) and I have to admit, they had me a bit worried. The palak variety were a bit pasty, the aloo were a touch too al dente and the onion were average at best. From there on in however, things improved significantly. The Sabudana vada were an absolute delight, the breads were all spot on and the pohe was brilliant in terms of flavour and range of textures. Two items stood-out as my favourites though: the bread pakoda and the aloo tikki wrap. I will say that the the pavs and the samosas were pretty much par for the course, but tasty nonetheless.
This meal absolutely represented value for money and it was thoroughly enjoyable, but I would be reluctant to make it my go to choice for this type of cuisine simply as I know that there are other, more spectacular vendors in the vicinity.
