Special place🎂

This is a fun place to have a celebration. Friendly staff in a sweet, cozy location full of magical creatures & hidden gems. Everything is vegan, the tea selection is wide, & both the savory & sweet treats are tasty & special. I look forward to many more visits!

A perfect high tea experience

One of my all-time favorite vegan restaurants (I have been eating vegan for just shy of 25 years and I have eaten in many vegan restaurants, in 4 continents). I have had tea here about half a dozen times over the last few years, and from that smattering of visits, the owner has been so personally friendly and thoughtful I almost have a sense of her as a friend. The tea and food are wonderful. An English baker brings traditional authenticity to the menu, but it's not a stiff or formal ethos. The menu includes whimsical creative elements like chocolate candies filled with ground pop rocks. Lovely garden seating among the flowers.

The tea of our vegan dreams

Oh my god, this is a fantastic tea room. I was happy enough to find plant based tea, and was ready for anything. This far exceeded my expectations and was as good a high tea as any I have had, including the Empress in Victoria.
Great quality and delicious tea and an absolutely charming environment. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and we can’t wait to come back.

Pros: Delicious , Fun , Relaxing

Gluten free and vegan!

Muir's Tea Room is completely magical, and the service is very attentive and caring. Everyone working there made our experience wonderful. I tried the gluten-free high tea, and my mom had the standard option. We were both very happy with the tea and food. It's such a great time to be gluten-free and vegan.

The amount of food is actually very filling, so definitely come on an empty stomach. It really is a full meal! I wasn't able to finish everything.

Good tea selection, fun experience

Tea: good varied selection with yummy flavors. My only complaint is that they used boiling water regardless of the type of tea which made it hard to brew green tea for best flavor— and too hot to drink without waiting some time. If you’re not super picky about tea like me, you’ll be happy.

Food: we reserved ahead of time which required ordering the full menu which was pretty expensive. Unfortunately, some of the dishes that aren’t their specialty were misses — salad, sandwiches, and seasonal savory bites weren’t up to the standard. I’d recommend just getting the biscuits and sweets or choosing items from their bakery case to have with tea so you only get the good stuff, but I don’t think you’re able to make a reservation and do that. I wouldn’t go back for the full menu. I might get sweets to go in the future.

Experience: it was fun and whimsical whether inside or in the garden, small gift shop is very cute and vibe is everything you’d expect. Staff were very kind though they did miss a couple of things when they got busy.

Pros: Lovely place, Tea selection

Cons: Some food wasn’t great, Expensive to reserve

Magical

I've been to Muir's twice now, the high tea service is spectacular. It runs you 50 bucks a person, but for the amount of craftsmanship that goes into each of the goodies and for endless tea, the price is well worth it for a special experience. I have enjoyed every tea pairing I've tried, and I especially love their cakes, mushroom tart, and scones that come with clotted "cream" and mini jam jars. Both times I've visited the workers have also given us samples of baked goodies they sell in their bakery case, my favourite of which is the peanut butter cup shortbread bar. Lastly, they feature a gift shop with lovely souveniers for both adults and kids, or you can buy a packet of their tea to enjoy at home. I will keep coming back here till the end of time.

Pros: All vegan, Great service

Looks like a lot of food 😜 I have not been there for tea yet. They used to have the restaurant and you could just pop in for food.

Best Kept Secret in Bay Area

Muir’s Tea Room is the most special vegan place in the entire Bay Area. Every month there is a new themed tea service. The owner and her daughter are the absolute sweetest. Highly recommend.💕🫖

Good food with complete GF High Tea menu!

It was such a wonderful experience to go there for tea! Not only is it completely vegan but they also have a GF option. The pastries are made in house and are absolutely delicious. My favorites off the May menu are the cucumber sandwiches, mushroom tart, and carrot cake cupcake.

Pros: Completely GF menu (for celiac peeps), Great atmosphere, Delicious food + tea = great experience

Fantastic Pastries & Savory Treats

What a fun, eclectic, and cozy place for events. The staff is very warm. Walls and surfaces are covered in trinkets and interesting things to see… and of course, the food is exquisite!

Pros: Scones - amazing flakey texture and taste, Savory Dishes - veggie soup, chickpea salad sammy, Atmosphere - playful, fun, unique, and inviting

Cons: Website info is very limited (reserve by phone), Layer cake - frosting was too sweet, but cute, Priced for a “sometimes treat” …but worth it

Delicious and Charming

I can't say enough about my experience at Muir's Tea Room in Jan 2022. The place is adorable, the staff is attentive and personable, and the food is soooo good! I wasn't sure what to expect going into afternoon tea, but it was fantastic. The Scottish theme was fun (the "cheese" and pickle sandwich blew my mind as did the scones) and the extra snacks we purchased from the bakery (chocolate peanut butter shortbread and peppermint patty) were just as good as the treats that were part of the tea service. I am so excited to go back again!

It looks like maybe they used to have lunch or an actual menu to order from, but that is not the case as of my visit. You could have the tea service offered for that month and/or baked goods.

Pros: Food!, Ambiance, Service

Great place

We finally made it here. Interesting place. It’s completely vegan too. I always thought you needed to do tea service here.
We came for lunch on Sunday close to noon. Place was pretty busy too. I had the soup and burger. Next time I will ask for the yummy sauce in the burger to be on the side. They also have cupcakes, chocolates and cookies.

A unique experience

It is a distinctly crunchy Sebastopol version of a British tea room. The restaurant is in a quaint wooden house a block removed from the main drag. If you are a couple I’d reserve one of the two window tables, though the place is smallish and my partner and I were perfectly happy in the back. All of the food was fun and tasty. Depending on what you order it can be a bit pricy ~$7-$35 per main but it is important to remember the work that goes into making all of the little snacks that add up to a full meal with the high tea menu items. My partner and I were happily stuffed when we left and I can’t imagine going through the town again without returning.

Pros: Vegan, Unique vegan experience , Fun location and decor

Top Notch Tea Time

Fabulous experience! The aesthetic inside is clean, bright, elegant and grounded. My mother and I shared a pot of the Queens Rose Garden tea. It was a perfect blend of subtle notes of sweet and fragrant floral blend. My mother initially ordered a jam and cream sandwich and was NOT a fan. The waitress exchanged it for a BLTA one free of charge. That one is amazing!! Best Gluten Free sourdough I’ve ever tried. My Dad’s tomato pesto melt was equally tasty. Shared lemon bar for dessert was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Definitely on the pricy side. However that is the norm for a tea room. Overall a fabulous experience 😍❤️💋

Pros: All Vegan!!, High Quality/ local ingredients , Tea smelling tray

Cons: Expensive

A gem

I came here with three non-vegan friends and I think they all liked it as much as I did. We all loved the sausage rolls and the grilled cheese. The scones were great as well, but for me, it was all about the savory stuff. I can't wait to return -- I'd be willing to drive from Oakland just to eat here again!

Pros: Great vegan food, Delightful setting, Themed events!

Cons: A little pricey, Too far away from where I live!

My first tea room experience

I’ve never been to a tea room, and I’m so glad I came here for my first time! The interior was decorated beautifully, all the food was delicious, and there was a vast selection of teas to try out. Came here and dressed up with my girlfriends. Would love to go back again, drove all the way from the Bay Area just to come here!

Pros: Delicious food, Beautiful interior design
