More vegan friendly than it looks

Dessert update: I went back and asked about mango sticky rice. As is typical, it's vegan as it uses coconut milk. It came as a nicely presented, manageably sized quenelle - I loved the creamy sweet and salty contrast. Well worth leaving room for!

Muang Thai's menu sells itself short on the vegan front so it's really worth going in and asking as many of the dishes can be made vegan. Even the butter-fried salt and pepper tofu can be made without butter. Curry and noodle dishes are available with tofu, veg or a mix. The tofu itself is really good and they're not stingy with it 😄 Panang curry is a winner, the sort of rich coconutty sauce you could just eat on its own but is also great on sticky rice. Papaya salad is generous and zingy - well worth a try even if, like me, you don't think you like papaya. Pad Khee Mao noodles have a good kick of holy basil. I've always been too full for dessert so have never asked about vegan options - I will next time and am interested if anyone has!

The dining room is nicely furnished and I love the cushioned, shoes-off seats with heated footwells on a cold day.
