Writing a review about a restaurant in an airport requires special precautions. Airport restaurants are different because they usually offer half the quality at double the price. Also, it is very hard to find vegan and/or healthy food at airports. Hence my surprise when I found "Mu" at Italy's Milano airport. A big sign outside says "plant based and healthy options"!
Yet, the menu offers mostly meat and fries. There's only a silver lining of a hand full of vegetarian and vegan options. To be on the safe side, I ordered the only item that actually had the word "vegan" in name: the "vegan wrap". It took significantly longer to prepare than the food of my 10 or so travel companions who all ordered death and carnage on a plate. When my vegan wrap finally arrived, most of them already cleaned their plates. The vegan wrap turns out to be a lot of vegan fake meat in sauce, stuffed in a wrap. There are hardly any vegetables at all, while I was hoping for vegetables in a blanket. While full of protein, the vegan wrap was a lot more fatty and oily than I hoped for. Yet, one must not look a gift horse in the mouth. "Mu" actually has vegan options at an airport.
The plant based steak salad is good - the airport isn’t great for vegan options, but it feels lucky that the very limited options there are at the airport are at least good. Easy to find, very well advertised/signposted plant based meals.
It is a steakhouse - however the vegan options are more than just veggies and hummus. Protein bowls are flavorful with seitan and other vegan protein options.

Pros: actual vegan options at an airport, big and filling portion
Cons: low quality, lots of fake meat almost no vegetables in the wrap
