Vegetarian South Indian restaurant that has branches in India, Singapore, Dubai and USA. Many dishes are vegan by default, including asala and rava dosa, idli, bisibele bhath, medu vada, to name a few. Open Mon-Fri 11:30am-4:00pm, Mon-Thu 5:30pm-9:30pm, Fri 5:30pm-10:00pm, Sat 11:30am-10:00pm, Sun 11:30am-9:30pm.

My first less than 5 star experience at MTR - Edit

It is with great regret that I have to give a less than 5 star to an institution that has always earned 5 star review every time we have visited no matter which country we have visited this restaurant.

What made the food less enjoyable was the service. The dosa are best eaten fresh off the griddle and two of the dosas came without chutney and sambhar without the server realizing that it was missing. When pointed it took several minutes to come. The Rasam Vadas did not come till we had to remind them several times, and last (4th) reminder, the server tells that we did not order. We ordered one Gudbud Ice Cream, two came. We paid for two. The description says strawberry ice cream, it was mango. The washrooms were flooded and they just could not manage it. Several folks were upset at the servers and manager. They just couldn’t handle.

The food was sub par when compared to other MTRs. The Masala Dosa was “well done” rather than golden brown. The idlis that MTR set a gold standard for was not at all MTR quality. The Medu Vada looked as if we made at home rather than restaurant made.

The food is good - but MTR is known for it quality and that every dish that comes out is a 5 star dish. Other restaurant who serve this food can get by, but MTR has set a higher standard.

Pros: All Vegetarian (no eggs)

Cons: Not clearly marked vegan options), Service was terrible
