Some good, some not so good - Edit
We maybe built up our expectations too much, and were a little underwhelmed by our first visit to Me Watson. We had the Guided Mushroom Trip and it started very well with the wings (spicy but bursting with flavour too) quickly followed by mushroom sliders, also good. The tacos were also good, and the corn on the cob was very good. The rest of the dishes weren’t bad but not great: leeks with romesco sauce, roasted aubergine (on a bed of pure tahini?!) and the — hyped by the staff — lion’s mane steak (not steak-like enough to deserve the hype and served with a white paste/puree which was simply not nice).

We did get the impression there was some problem that evening, so maybe we just had bad luck to be there on an off night, but anyway we do intend to go back (but order à la carte).

Music inside was quite loud but the restaurant was quite empty which might have amplified the noise. Loads of extraordinarily drink options, something for everyone.

It was pretty cozy but it also looked modern. The food comes looks like they are small portions but is quite filling. Definitely on the pricier end though!

A Perfect Meal - Edit
My husband and I have been vegan since 1991 and 1990 respectively. The idea of Mr. Watson’s, a vegan mushroom focused restaurant was so exciting to us. We had an amazing meal in a wonderful environment. We sat outside and the weather was perfect, complimenting the perfect meal. We had the “Guided Mushroom Trip” and each course was special and delicious. The Guided Mushroom Trip was a generous banquet of the KOREAN-STYLE MUSHROOM WINGS;PULLED MUSHROOM BIRRIA; LIONS MANE STEAK SHARED CUT; STICKY AUBERGINE & SESAME;BURGER SLIDERS;GRILLED CORN; LEEK & ROMESCO SAUCE; SEASONAL VEGETABLES; and FERMENTED VEGETABLES. Dessert was included and we ended the vegan journey with Tiramisu and soft serve ice cream with mango puree. The entire dinner was unique and unbelievably flavourful. The service was also wonderful. Mark the manager who served us was attentive, warm, and personable, and a young woman also served us and she was buoyant and welcoming. Mr. Watson’s is not to be missed and we will return time after time.

Ok service was very nice!! Cocktails were strong. We had a selection of mushroom dishes: sourdough and porcini butter, lionsmane steak, (oyster mushroom?) wings, and mushroom birria tacos. Everything was very good, although we left a bit hungry.. I was very happy to try dishes I’d only seen before on pinterest but at the same time, for this price I want to try something I’ve never seen before. Usually the structure was more interesting than the flavors. Nice vibes tho, I appreciate the Avatar-like-interior, I felt like I was on Pandora.

Journey through Mushrooms - Edit
Mr. Watson is absolutely wonderful. My wife and I did the Guided Mushroom Trip tasting menu and had nearly everything on the menu lol. It was a 2.5 hour meal at a time that was not very busy, but it was also 6 courses with multiple of those having multiple dishes. It never felt like we were waiting an unreasonable amount of time. Very unique dishes that all tasted fantastic. Highly recommend.

We were a big party tonight and our server Mark was the kindest ! The food was superb , and out of the whole table I was the only vegan. So for sure this place is a crowd pleaser. Umami in all the ways possible , up until the desert mushrooms were the star! Would recommend for a great night out!

The Korean fried mushrooms and lion’s mane steak were good, but the roasted veggies were a bit too raw. The desserts were tasty, but less creamy than I’ve had at other places.
