Delicious Vegan Tacos - Edit
Went to Mr. Taco on a slow Friday afternoon. (12/30) There were several vegan options, clearly marked. The food was great! Green salsa was very spicy. Waitress was pleasant and prompt. I didn’t see any roaches (as an earlier reviewer stated.) I would recommend this restaurant to others.

Roach problem - Edit
I loved this place so much! The food 10/10. Been here a few times and loved the food. But they have a major roach problem that i never noticed before (because i always ordered to go), i was sitting at the table and there was roaches running around on the floor. I went to the restroom and the same issue(the last and final time i went). Employees FaceTiming and are on the phone in-front of customers. I had ordered to go once and my food hasn’t even started being prepared and the restaurant and it was empty so that was the day I waited in the restaurant and noticed the roaches. Another time they said they were out of the vegan chorizo so i had to get the tacos and the other menu items are priced differently and i never got the difference in price back. And another time i placed an order to go and i told them i wanted the vegan flautas and the manager said they Don’t have that, and the only vegan thing they have is the tacos, but they literally have a menu that says vegan with their options and their business cards even say vegan menu, how are you going to argue with me about “never” having certain menu items when i have ordered to go numerous times and have had every menu item that y’all have had on the vegan menu?. And the “vegan menu” they have given me real cheese and sour cream and i knew that the moment i saw it, and it happened a few times. The food is over priced. Im sorry but $12.99 for 2 tacos? No thanks they charge the same amount for real meat, and it’s cauliflower!. They are very stingy when it comes to the salsa too, they give you like the smallest thing of it!. And it costs for extra. It gets one star because the food is delicious but its not worth the price and not to mention the roach problem. I only went there because my options on the island are very limited and i would forget my work lunch. Don’t get me wrong the food is delicious! BUT there will be times where they give you real dairy and if the roaches don’t bother you, by all means go ahead.

When the owner found out I was vegan and loved Mexican food and hot sauce, he encouraged me to try everything. He even made the house hot sauce right in front of me! Everything is delicious and they will be starting a vegan happy hour soon! The bartender is also great!

Great spot to get some good Mexican food in Galveston. They have a clearly labeled vegan section on their menu. I got the Flautas and loved them! I asked for no bell peppers, and the filling was cheesy and onion-y and delicious. BE FOR-WARNED, my plate came out with real dairy cotija cheese on the pico and lettuce part. I was suspicious and asked if it was real cheese. The server (possibly manager?) apologized and brought out a little cup of shredded vegan cheese. Make doubly sure about what comes out when you order. Also, for example, the normal appetizer of guacamole has cheese on top of it too, so you have to be sure to order it without cheese.
Read moreNow the loud part - the restaurant is not that big, and they had a full, authentic Mariachi band performing with TWO trumpets, an accordion, guitar, and a singer belting at the top of his lungs. It was DEAFENING. 😩 They were really good, but it’s just not big enough of a venue for the band. Beware if you have sensitive hearing and the band is there. You may want to get your food to go!

Loved the chips, guac, salsa, and beans and rice. Also like the Dia de los Muertos theme in the restaurant. Was a little disappointed in the flautas. Seemed to be mostly a bunch of bell peppers instead of the listed beans and cheese. I will go back and order a different entree.

They actually have a pretty big vegan selection (they haven’t updated the website yet, so it doesn’t show in their online menu). The vegan quesadillas are absolutely amazing. My partner and I have come here four times over the three days we’ve stayed in Galveston. They are also planning on expanding the menu so keep an eye out! I’d give them 5 stars if I could.

Found this festive Mexican joint right next to the water! - Edit
Plenty of vegan options clearly listed, delicious food, super cute decor, very friendly staff, and a view of the ocean. Can it get any better? We went on a Tuesday I believe at 2pm and they had buy one get one free margaritas. Dangerous but so good! I will be back!
