  • Ice-cream Ice Cream

A cashew milk ice creamery located inside the Emeryville Public Market. All flavors are vegan and organic unless marked otherwise (my understanding is that the lemon, when in season, may contain egg). This location has 12 vegan flavors. Also has vegan cones, vegan hot fudge, and vegan hot caramel toppings. As of May 2017, has one other location (Albany). Open Mon-Thu 12:00pm-8:00pm, Fri-Sat 12:00pm-9:00pm, Sun 12:00pm-8:00pm.

The best vegan ice cream!

After becoming vegan, I thought I’d never taste anything close to the creaminess of gelato. But Mr. Dewie’s proved me wrong! Everything is amazing, and there are so many flavors to choose from. My current favorite is the matcha ❤️

Pros: Vegan, Delicious , Creamy

So many options!

More than the usual one flavor you get at other places- Here you can have everything. Take it by after scoop or by the pint. We tried three flavors and they were all fantastic!

Creamy and delicious cashew ice cream

The flavours were so balanced, not overly sweet. The turmeric & spice was my favourite. Lovely little shop tucked away beside a restaurant; so lucky we found it.

Love this ice cream so much

I really can’t say how much I love Mr Dewie’s. When I decided to go vegan, after a decade as a vegetarian, the one thing I was really sad to give up was ice cream. But I’m not missing a thing. This is among the best ice creams I’ve had my whole life, dairy or not. My very favorite flavor is the Orange Chocolate Chip.
This is my least favorite of the tree locations, but it’s not the ice cream’s fault! You have to walk through a market with lots of other foods cooking, which to me is less pleasant than just going to the individual ice cream shop.

Pros: Some of the best ice cream ever, Very friendly staff

Cons: Dealing with other food vendors (at this spot)

The best “ice cream”!!!

Cashew ice cream > dairy ice cream. This place is amazing and so delicious. I can’t recommend enough.

YES

So glad I stumbled across this place. The ice creams are SO CREAMY and they have a good mix of classic and non-classic flavors. Toppings are great too. So many options to choose from.

sooo good

Great ice cream - only one non vegan (rocky road) as it had marshmallows in it. Had banana nut and orange chocolate chip and it was delicious and great value too.

Creamy Deliciousness

My sister and Yaya, both of whom are also vegan, accompanied me here on Mother's Day for an afternoon treat. There were 12 flavors from which to choose that day. They ordered strawberry and chocolate, respectively. I ordered 2 scoops of the Caramel Almond. I love caramel, but I'm not a huge fan of nuts. The sample tasted as if the nuts wouldn't be prevalent so I ordered 2 scoops. This is definitely for nut fans. Every bite was nut-laden. The caramel was delicious, it was just way to nutty for this chica. Whenever I'm in town again, I'll try their coconut, vanilla, and chocolate.

You have the options of cup, cake cone, or sugar cone. There is an asterisk by the cake and sugar cones and at the bottom it states "vegan/GF option 0.50, so I'm not sure if that means that they're already vegan and the gluten-free option is additional or if vegan & GF are both additional. We got ours in cups, but that will need to be clarified upon my return.

I was excited to see that they have a vegan (and GF) chocolate chip ice cream cookie sandwich too. Another thing I'll need to try on my next visit to the Bay Area. They are located inside the Emeryville Public Market.

Pros: creamy and delicious , nice variety of flavors, vegan caramel sauce
