Gorgeous vegan options - Edit
Vegan options to die for! Had a separate vegan menu available at request. As it was our first time at a Mowglis, we were offered free vegan chaat bombs!! Get to pick a few different bits. Staff were super helpful. My auntie doesn’t do well with spice and they were brilliant at pointing out what would be best for her. Would come again/visit some of the other ones. Gets very busy at times, so best to book ahead or come early

Great food - Edit
Not my first Mowgli but lived up to previous experiences.
Read moreVegan chat was divine then I had the temple dhal with rice. That filled me up most satisfactorily!
Great friendly service.
My only gripe is there just being one vegan desert option!
Pros: Choice , Chat, Service
Cons: Lack of pud choices!

Never Disappointing - Edit
I finally got to go back to Mowglis after extended period of time and I am delighted to say that it was an brilliant as ever. The vegan chat bombs were worth the years of waiting, the bhel puri was still exceptional and the treacle tamarind fries were amazing once again. However, my favourite item has alway been the slaw and the fact I had three of them indicates that I was quite happy with how they turned out! The only minor blips on this visit were that the tangles green weren’t as fiery and the Holy Chow was a little less flavoursome than previous iterations, but still an excellent meal.

Booked a meal - Edit
Booked a meal here around Christmas time. It wasn't too busy. Vegan food was very nice. My mums food was a bit cold and would have ordered more if she knew the portion sizes were only small

Tasty Indian street food - Edit
We called in here for dinner one evening when in Liverpool. It's a cool place, set in the heart of the lively Ropewalks district. They offer a nice range of Indian street food, with a separate vegan menu containing about a dozen items - though 3 of them are fries so not very Indian! Dishes cost around £5 each and are designed for sharing. A bit like Indian tapas! They recommend 2-3 dishes each. We tried the chickpea curry, the temple dahl, the picnic potatoes and some roti. Everything was very nice. Plenty to keep your carnivore friends happy too!

Great choice but a bit slow and not hot! - Edit
The selection is great and I tried some dishes I wouldn't normally choose but it's not easy to tell what the dishes will be or even of they're served hot or cold.

Would give it 5 stars if I could - Edit
I have been going here for years (this is the original one)- initially as a meat eater and then a veggie and then a vegan. The food is good quality and unique for all of those options, rather unlike some options where vegan options feel like an afterthought. We try and visit here when we are in Liverpool as we love the food so much.
Read moreWe tend to get the tiffin boxes. Last time we visited we got the vegan tiffin boxes (pot luck. The rhubarb dhal was amazing!), bread, chat bombs, treacle tamarind fries (another star of the show) and cocktails to share between the two of us.
The staff are friendly and helpful but it is quite cramped and always busy. You do need to book ahead and if you want more space go for the bigger restaurant on Water Street
Pros: Amazing flavoursome food , Pot luck tiffin boxes are fun & good quality
Cons: Always busy so book ahead

The chat bombs were sick but rest was really underwhelming - one of the starters was actually just bombay mix with onions and coriander

Don’t understand the hype... - Edit
Okay, it’s quite nice inside, nicely decorated with nice lighting. It is cramped in there though. Service was mediocre at best - not too friendly. Separate vegan menu which is good. I chose the ‘chip butty’, the vegan special and some rice. The chip butty was quite nice - Patatas Bravas in a wrap. But the big vegan chickpea tomato based chilli curry wasn’t great - served in a giant hollowed out piece of white bread. Left a lot to be desired. Wanted to get out in the end to be honest.

Tasty but limited - Edit
Loved it the first visit, liked it the second, started to get bored by the third.
Read moreReally interesting menu and tasty food. But the menu is very small (and no specials) and based around small tiffin bowls, so when a group of you go and share you run out of options quite quickly.
Definitely recommended for a one-off or occasional visit.
Sweet and sour puffed rice dish is a revelation, as is the Himalayan chip butty

Best food in Liverpool - Edit
This place is AMAZING, the food is beautiful, theres loads of it and the beer is also really great! I've been here a few times, and I always get the Rhubarb Dahl and the Calcutta greens, with rice and puris. Such tasty and wholesome food with lots of choices for vegans and vegetarians! Would recommend 100%. Always packed too.

Stunning - Edit
Wow! Have visited another Mowglis on the other side of Liverpool but my trio this time just cemented how much I love the place :) I tried so many things including the tamarind chips (wtf wow), a rhubarb and ginger lentil Dahl and a rose & lychee martini !! Not too expensive, v nice staff and an absolutely beautiful space! I love what they've done with it 10/10 (CANT GIVE IT 5 STARS BECAUSE ITS NOT A VEGGIE PLACE BUT ITS ACTAULLY LIKE A 6/5) xxxxx

Great vegan menu - Edit
Popped in to the Bold St branch on the off chance there would be a table - we got booked in and offered a seat at the bar. The décor, staff and cocktails were all lovely! Very busy but chilled atmosphere. When seated we were offered the vegan menu - our waitress had remembered this from when we first popped in which was very thoughtful. There is so much to choose from and it is all beautiful! The street food concept works so well as you find yourself trying things that you wouldn't see on the menu anywhere else. Highly recommend, we have since visited a Mowgli branch in Manchester as we knew we'd have lots of vegan options!

delicious! - Edit
Nice looking place in hip Bold street. They have several vegetarian options on their menu, hard to choose. I had the paneer, which was the best I ever tasted, and dahl with rhubarb and ginger, an unusual but excellent combination. I also had tea steamed chickpeas, they were not super special, but still good though. They had told me that 3 to 4 dishes were normal for 1 person, but 2 with rice would probably have been sufficient.

Enjoyable Indian food - Edit
The vibe in this place is not streetfoody at all, rather fancy and Brooklyn-esque with its bare brick walls and modern lighting. Felt a bit like appropriation of Indian street food, but the food was delicious nonetheless and the portions were okay.

The food is just soooo delicious! They have a vegan menu :) And try the watermelon icecream, it's huge haha and tastefull.
The staff is nice, the place is modern and hip...yeah, highly recommend it :D.
Be aware: the place is very popular and therefor quickly left without tables. They don't do reservations but when you come in they'll say like: ''I'l put you on the list, come back at 6" or something.
The first time we had to wait 45min, but we could shop around a little at the shops nearby :)
Pros: Quality, Price, Atmosphere
Cons: Waiting time
