Good vegan buffet option in Arusha

First off I need to mention that the hotel is primarily serving westernized food to foreign tourists. Breakfast and Lunch are reasonably large buffets and there are some good vegan options within the buffet. The breakfast tends to have a very large fresh fruit selection that makes it a bit nicer than the lunch offering. When asking the chef which items were vegan they were quick to point out what I couldn't eat and tell me why each time. They also frequently would make me special vegan entrees which would often times be similar to some of the items on the buffet but with a different rice-base or with vegetables cooked in oil instead of butter. The chef was especially happy to help me in this manner when there weren't main courses that I could eat and when the chef made these smaller custom dishes they were always really good. That said frequently I had no problem at all eating a wide variety of things at the buffet. Occasionally some of the items served were wonderful but the food options varied a good bit from meal to meal. Do try the local bananas they serve at breakfast if you are in the area, they are orange on the inside and taste great.

Finally one thing I want to point out, this is a 4-star rating for a vegan option in Arusha, not to be compared directly with similar ratings for other cities. It is a really good option for this area and a nice place to stay if you happen to be traveling through here.

Pros: Chef is vegan friendly., Staff are very nice., Good fruit variety for breakfast.

Cons: mosquitos. It's an open-air restaurant.
