Delish + great atmosphere - Edit

Most of the dishes can be prepared vegan and gluten free - much appreciated! The pad Thai and the adult swim very stunning!

Slightly Disappointing - Edit

I really wanted to love this place after almost going so many times, but it didn't live up to the hype. The first time I went was with four friends around 9 on a weeknight. We got a ton of food and a rum punch bowl. The punch bowl was huge and great. For the food, we got the char siu buns, potstickers, dumplings, veggie burger, pad Thai, and rum rice. The potstickers were my favorite, but most of the other dishes were much more bland than I was expecting. They all sound amazing but the flavor just wasn't there. The service was okay. The second time I went was to meet a friend for dinner. When we told our waitress we needed a bit more time to decide, she literally rolled her eyes and looked so shocked that we weren't ready?? It was very strange and we felt weird about it, so we decided to leave and go upstairs to Cienfuegos instead (which was amazing). Also, Mother of Pearl is SUPER loud. I am in no way sensitive to sound and love loud restaurants/bars, but it was basically impossible to have a conversation.

Pros: Delicious cocktails, Fun decor

Cons: Hit or miss service, Food is lacking, Too loud

Wrong and missing communication - Edit

We went there on a Sunday morning when the restaurant was supposed to be open. It was closed, so we took the cab and walked through the rain for nothing.
When I wrote them I got the reply that the times on their website was correct and they did not know what the problem was. Via Google cache I made some screenshots proving that the times have been corrected just after my mail. And still some other times where incorrect. I asked for clarification.
I wrote the manager 3 more mails and did not get a single response.

Very disappointed in the missing customer service!

Pros: Food seems to be good from other reviews

Cons: Terrible customer service

GO HERE. - Edit

Yes, please try this place out. I'm usually not a fan of the tiki bar style, but this place is pretty perfect. The ambiance is just right and the food and cocktails are unbelievably incredible, they fit the vibe of the bar as well. I plan to come back every time I visit. You should definitely try it.

perfect brunch - Edit

Four of us tried about half the brunch menu, and never expected to enjoy it so much. The place is cute, staff super friendly, but the food was so memorable. We expected smaller plates but all left satisfied. Beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared. We will be back.

Vegan Tiki Fun! - Edit

I've been to Mother of Pearl twice, the second time with a non-vegan foodie friend who LOVED it. We each had a couple of rum cocktails - Sugar Cane Magic was our favorite. We were full after the third sharing plate, but of course had a fourth one and also ordered dessert. I've now tried almost everything on the menu, and it's all outstanding, but the Lychee Potstickers are a definite do-not-miss. And if you have room after your meal, the Fried Steamed Buns are worth squeezing in.
