This is one of our go to spots in Phoenix. I’ve been here probably 50 times and I’ve never had a bad experience. Their black bean sweet potato burger is amazing! The pan am tofu burger is also delicious. Kind of like a bahn mi sandwich. The vegetable polenta hot pot is also really yummy. Their fries are amazing too and they give you a ton of them!
So i’ve been here twice now. Both times I was warned by the servers that they were understaffed and that things were running slow.
The first time I ordered the Spinach and Apple salad, it says it has an “Orange IPA Vinaigrette” but I didn’t taste anything IPA about it and the salad was completely underwhelming, it also took about 45 minutes to arrive.
The second time the front of house was empty but my party was seated behind the kitchen. We sat there for over 20 minutes being completely ignored by the staff doing something involving banging around a box of silverware at a service table next to us before we finally were able to order drinks and french fries. When the drinks finally did come they were awful.
After waiting around another 20 minutes without the fries coming that was my breaking point with this place and I asked for the check. When we got the check it had the french fries on it that never came. When I walked all the way to the front to find someone to give the bill to and explain that we never got the fries that took almost another 10 minutes for them to figure out.
Needless to say this is the last time I will try this place and you should probably skip it as well.
I visited Mother Bunch after nearly a year of living in Phoenix and it has some of the tasty vegan food I’ve had in the valley! Their vegan and vegetarian options are clearly marked on the menu. They have two vegan veggie burgers, a wrap, a hot vegan dish, multiple salad options, and a few vegan appetizers. There are even more options for vegetarians. I had the Pan Am tofu burger and it was the stuff that dreams are made of! They marinate and sear the tofu to perfection. The sandwich was fresh and frankly much better than others I’ve had at veggie restaurants in Phoenix. I’d give them five stars if I could! They also have a wide craft beer list and options to build your own flight for $8.
