Delicious Burger with potatoe wedges. - Edit
The burger I had was quite good especially with the sauce and the side of potatoe wedges. Would definitely come back when I'm back in Kyoto and enjoy the other dishes such as pizza or ramen as they all looked good!

Closed, when it should be open. Wasting my time. - Edit
I walked there for 30 min., Arriving well inside business hours, stated on the website and a sign outside. Still it was closed, though I saw people sitting inside eating. That is obviously wasting my precious time and rude. If you don't run a serious business with reliable opening hours don't advertise at all.

Delicious - Edit
Cute little restaurant. The interior has nice attention to detail. The portion sizes are large especially considering how cheap it was. I had the eggplant pizza - the vegan cheese that was used on it was amazing, and the tomato sauce was rich and delicious. My parents had the burger and the fish burger. Apparently the fish burger didn’t really taste like fish according to my Omni father, but was delicious none the less. I tried a bite of the regular burger, and the soy meat was incredibly delicious! Very hearty burger, but I thought my pizza was the best! Quick service too. I would get in early though or make a reservation - we were very lucky to have gotten a seat.

Top 3 in Kyoto - Edit
We had a lunch here, and it was one of the best in Kyoto. I tried the fish burger and my wife a pizza. Both were incredible, one of the best vegan burger/pizza we ever tried. The owner was super nice with us and we had a very enjoyable time. Because of bad schedule we couldn’t return, but if we had more time we surely would have come here again.

Incredibly rude - Edit
Whilst we enjoyed the food, we could not overlook how rude the owner is, especially to non-Japanese. We will not be returning, there are so many other delicious vegan restaurants in Kyoto with kind spirited hosts who treat their customers with kindness.

Tasty food, quick service - Edit
Morphocafe is a short walk from the imperial palace and Nijō castle. The pizza, soy cutlets and hot chocolate all tasted amazing! The service was quick but would recommend getting there early as it had a closed sign outside when we left at 6:30.

Finally Katsu - Edit
Finally are some Katsu alternative with Soy. It was hard to believe how close it was to the original. Very meaty. Extremely tasty, and the (obviously quite expensive) Chocolate Parfait was bonkers. Highly recommended!

Yum - Edit
We walked over to Morpho after a tour of Nijo Castle. We got there a few minutes before opening and had to wait until about 5 minutes after opening time to be invited in. All vegan so that was awesome. We got a soy burger and some ramen (served only at dinner time), a carafe of wine, and a strawberry parfait. All were delicious!

Nice little restaurant with great vegan food - Edit
We came here after visiting Nijo castle. The restaurant is really cute. We wanted to order the vegan ramen, but they only serve noodles after 5 pm. We had the vegan/soy burger and a chocolate cake instead. The food was fantastic. The staff was very friendly. I really recommend this location!

Amazing Ramen and juicy Burger - Edit
The Ramen is really creamy, and thick, which means it’s actually filling. The burger here is really juicy, and the potato wedges are the best I’ve ever tried 😍 I came with my family who were visiting me from England, and they loved it too! Menu is small but that’s fine, because it’s easier to choose. The non- curry ramen is perfect for people who can’t eat spice, it’s mildly peppery but that’s the extent of it. The owner also speaks really good English, so any allergies or worries he can help with even if you don’t speak Japanese.

thankful for vegan - Edit
Morpho restaurant had a warm family feeling to it when I was there for lunch. The staff were very friendly and spoke some English. At first the portions seemed small but there were many different dishes in the lunch set that ultimately, I left feeling stuffed and satisfied. The small bowls had a hodgepodge of tastes like a curry pasta, pickled daikon, seaweed salad, and potato salad. The set lunch had some choice like vegan pork cutlet or croquette. The set also came with a sizable serving of brown rice and a large salad. Everything was super tasty. I went for the additional drink and dessert set for a few hundred yen more. It was very reasonably priced for an everyday lunch destination. Definitely going back! Bravo!

Awesome Pizza - Edit
We went there a couple of times now, and the food was always amazing😄if you’re a group larger than two it’s good to make a reservation, if you don’t the owner won’t stop telling you that it’s better to make a reservation 😅 (edit 6 months later: we’ve been here quite often now and the owner really warmed up to us, I guess he’s just shy😄)

Great vegan ramen - Edit
Cozy restaurant not far from the Imperial Palace. I was excited to try ramen that uses soy milk and I was not disappointed. Delicious, and a good amount of food for the price too. The parfait was bigger than expected, but made a tasty treat. Kind owner and good service, and the staff does their best with English. The menu also has English translations.

Delicious and affordable - Edit
Morpho is a cozy cafe with plenty of delicious vegan options. I went three times, tried both vegan ramen options (curry and standard) and the natto rice bowl. The vegan ramens were fabulous; made with a peanut and soy milk broth, they were super creamy and comforting. The curry option was nicely spiced and came with some extra brown rice to absorb the curry sauce. Standard vegan ramen has mushrooms. The natto rice bowl was tasty also but I preferred the ramen since it was nice and hot! The owner is also very friendly and speaks perfect English (though he was also willing to entertain my awful Japense😄) I can't recommend it enough!

Good cafe food - Edit
We had the hot cocoa, burger with fries and the pizza. The portions were rather small, but it's to be expected from a cafe.
Read moreThe hot cocoa was so good! Definitely recommend it! Both the burger and pizza were really flavorful, although the burger was a little hard to eat since it tends to fall apart.
Our waiter was kind of odd. When we walked in he asked us if "vegan food is ok". Considering the cafe is all-vegan, I thought it was a strange question to ask. He also prompted my boyfriend to eat his burger fast while I was waiting for my pizza still, and he insisted on never unwrapping the burger.
Overall it was pretty good, I would come back for the hot cocoa!
