This place serves vegan food that is just good for the soul. I ordered their curry “chicken” platter and the rice and sides it came with all came together in a divine meal. The gentlemen running the place are super nice and they have all kinds of cool herbs and plant medicines in jars around the store. This is not a fast food spot, so be prepared to wait fifteen minutes or call ahead, but the food is definitely worth it.

Fresh Ital Food - Hidden Gem - Edit
The owner is very kind, knowledgeable and dedicated. The food is fresh, plant based and satisfying. I ordered the large Vegan Curry Chicken and it was filling yet it doesn’t leave you with the sluggish feeling after eating a big meal. I also got fresh herbs from him to make capsules with! Definitely a hidden gem and worth the return!

Not your average corner store. The northern part of Philly that we call uptown. You will find more life. Own by a Rasta holding it down for two years. You have to be buzzed into the store. But once you’re in you quickly feel like you took flight to Jamica. Every herb you could ever need is here. The food is made to order it recommended that you call and order a head if you want to be in and out. The prices are fair. Offering medium and large platters. This is not sit in restaurants it definitely take out only. The food so authentic and yummy. #Veganuary

So many options but I went with the vegan chicken platter in a brown stew. It was like traditional Jamaican oxtail but served with plenty of colors. It came with rice w/ pigeon peas, plantains, callaloo, and a salad topped with avocado. I’m excited to go back soon.
