Great snack spot - Edit
If you want to try the traditional food of Cauca in Popayán, this is the place to do it! The menu is intentionally meant to be snacks, especially to be shared, and there are lots of unintentionally vegan options when it comes to the food and drink. The atmosphere is great with lots of traditional music like porros playing. Service is quick and friendly & can pay with cash or card. Great spot and you’ve got to give it a try, they’ve got two locations in the city too!

Now serves meat/not many vegan options - Edit
I sent a WhatsApp to see if they were open/what was vegan and it appears now it's only the empanaditas and tamales as I wasn't told anything else was in the message.
Read moreWhen we arrived (it was very busy) I asked if anything else was and was told everything was vegan except the meat dish that is now on the menu (so unfortunately this place is no longer vegetarian, see pic of menu with chorizo dish). On closer inspection 2 of these dishes contained cheese so I asked again and was told nothing was vegan, at which point I showed her the WhatsApp and she said only those 2 dishes that I'd been told on WhatsApp.
I find it difficult to believe the patacones aren't vegan as they usually are so I think she just didn't know.
She never returned for our drinks order and we really needed help in knowing which of those were vegan so we ended up with nothing to drink.
The food was good but not very healthy. Glad we tried them.
Pros: Tasty food, Good atmosphere
Cons: Not many options, No vegan labelling and staff that don't know, Not healthy

A small bite - Edit
Small cafe up a small staircase. Fully decorated with paintings from Popayán. 90s Latin music in the background. Several vegan options available. Not extremely filling, but works.

Nice restaurant, but no real lunch options - Edit
The restaurant is nice, but there are actually no real lunch options on the menu. It's more like a bakery. I took some empanaditas, patacones with cheese and tamal (all very nice), but I've missed some vegetables, soup, sauce or salad with that. The menu is fully vegetarian with some vegan options.

Good for a snack and drink - Edit
We had the empanaditas (10 small empanadas) and salpicón (drink made of blackberries, lulo and guanábana), which were both good. Cozy little place located on the first floor of the building.
