Really good vegan buffet - Edit

I was hungry when I arrived, and satisfied when I left. The buffet had lots of variety of good choices. I had a really nice burger, salad with hummus, excellent channa masala, califlower, and fried potatoes. The kamboucha was unsweetened, which was nice. The cake looked good, but I was too full!

Pros: Really good vegan buffet , Friendly

Cons: A bit pricey, but reasonable for what you get

Sweetest staff and good food! - Edit

We went here for two times and never got disappointed. One time we just helped ourselves at the raw buffet and the other time we got some warm food from the other side and a raw coconut cake. Everything was quite tasty and the staff was super sweet and attentive, explaining how the payment is done and even letting us sit and eat up for an hour after closing.
Also it's one of those rare places in Brussels, where you can catch (vegan) dinner after 19 p.m. ;)

Pros: Tasty food, Opening hours, Very attentive staff

Cons: A little expensive, but so is all in Belgium :)

It's not hummus if there's no tahini in it! - Edit

We went for dinner and there was not much food to choose from. The rice was not very good and the hummus can use much more tahini.

Overall just ok, we'll try lunchtime to see if it gets better!

Pros: Vegan

Cons: Expensive, Not many options

EXPENSIVE. - Edit

Food is OK, but I'm not coming back.
My plate was costing around 9€ and I decided to add two slices of sweet potato, and suddenly my plate was costing 12€. No, I'm not even kidding. I knew it was price by weight, but omg. I also bought a thin slice of cake for 3,90€. After paying and sitting, I went back to the counter to ask for some tap water and a napkin. He gave me the napkin as fast as he told me NO for the tap water. What a shame. :(

Pros: You can choose whatever you want from the buffet.

Cons: Expensive. Not worthy. Overrated.

Tasty vegan food by weight - Edit

This was a nice restaurant offering food only by weight (aside from a fixed price on dessert items and soup). I would imagine it is best to get there near the start of the service so you get the freshest food possible, however when I went in the late afternoon the food was still nice. I found I got a lot of food for the price this way, as I found Brussels to be an expensive city (as far as food). My favourite things I ended up trying were the lasagna and the chickpeas. I would have gone a second time had I been able to before my trip was over.

Pros: Food by weight means good value , Tasty food

Cons: No a la carte menu

Surprisingly good vegan place - Edit

It is our favourite vegan place in Bruxelles. All their food is vegan, self served and paid by weight (some exceptions). Food is fresh and tasty, not oily. Staff was nice.

Pros: Full Vegan, Self serve, Paid by weigth

Cons: maybe it could be cheaper, but the price was ok

Good food, but pricy and service could be better - Edit

We planned to check this place out because we like vegan-only restaurants, of which there are just a few in Brussels. The food was good, but the overall experience disappointing. There was a huge line, because only one of the two cash registers was open. By the time we got to pay, the hot food had turned cold. We knew already from other reviews that it was pricey, so no real surprises there, but it would be a good idea to place a weighing scale at the buffet to allow people to check how much they can be expected to pay in advance. For the rest, we found that the place lacked atmosphere, the music wasn't very pleasant and it was too cold inside. With a few adjustments, they could make it into a much nicer experience, given the high prices.

Tasty - Edit

The food tastes wonderful ! You can sit there to eat or just take it out. Ofc like all the other people said here it is quite expensive for what you get. Like a small piece of pie is almost 4 euro.

It is not so far from the train station Brussels central.

Pros: vegan, raw, location

Cons: expensive

Really tasty and really pricy - Edit

The food was quite good and healthy, everything is vegan an gluten-free so no need to worry about the labels. But what a bad surprise when you arrive at the counter, the price is 2,7/100g so you better be not eating
Much there if you don’t want to pay 20 for your plate. I think it is quite expensive for a lunch place.

Pros: tasty, healthy

Cons: very pricy, self service (and expensive?!)

Great concept - Edit

You take a plate and whatever food you put on it is weighted. There are 2 stations, hot and cold and you can chose from raw or cooked vegan dishes. Everything is vegan too. If you would like to try something new, get inspired or just feed your belly, I recommend it.
I also had this very rich almond cheesecake. We could barely finish between the two of us.

Pros: diversity, raw choices , fresh

Cons: expensive, operating hours

Bad quality/price ratio - Edit

The price was about 2.70 eur/100 g which is quite expensive but the food looked very good. We tried a little bit of everything and the only thing that was really worth it was mushroom sauce. The rest was very not really tasty... We didn't try the raw food because of the price per g.

Pros: healthy, nearby center

Cons: price, taste/quality

Healthy but not very tasty and quite pricey. - Edit

There is a raw food section and a cooked vegan food section. The cooked one is tasty but I find there is something missing in the raw section, it is not very satisfying. The raw vegan chocolate/coco cake was delicious! :) The staff is fine but the price is only affordable if you eat very little as it goes by weight and it often gets VERY expensive!

Pros: Healthy , self service, spacious

Cons: EXPENSIVE

Creative, raw, convenient, but something missing - Edit

The food on paper is amazing raw, vegan cuisine. I eat as raw as possible so it was convenient to find this place near my accommodation in Brussels. Buffet style food tends to mean it won't be as good as a normal restaurant in my opinion, and it held somewhat true. The food could feel soggy, old, and a bit bland sometimes. It was also pretty expensive. However, I spent every day eating at this place and it's fantastic to have a raw vegan buffet in Brussels.

Pros: convenience, plenty of options

Cons: bland, buffet food can get old and soggy, price

the food was not fresh and not tasty - Edit

We came at the end of the day, almost nothing left and what was left was old and tasteless. It is also not very cheap. Wouldn't come back for sure.

Good but expensive - Edit

Nice interior and delicious food. But it's definitely not cheap. €15 for a medium sized plate not filled much. I think €10 would have been fairer. Would still recommend this place though if you don't care about the cost

Pros: Good self serve food

Cons: Expensive

glad to find living food option - Edit

Most vegan places serve cooked food and salads only. I was delighted to find living foods here. Raw dehydrated crackers, raw pizza and zoodle salad. We were here at the end of the day and there was still enough choices to pick from available.

Pros: raw , living foods

enjoyable - Edit

I come here often enough, half the food is raw, half isn't. It's all vegan. You pick your dishes and your plate is weighed. As a self-serving place, the service is basic. The owner is a bit weird trying to figure our which languages we speak ,between my partner and I we speak 6 languages and all official ones of belgium-we don't care what language you speak or trying to to find the dominant one to manage a conversation of how much the food is, and how to pay (which we could understand in 20 languages), but this is a very belgian thing, they are insistant on speaking to one in the right language-but it's weird. It's a bit weird to be so insistant on language for a place that basically doesn't need to offer any service. Food is good enough, it's quite a fast place to eat in. Just keep track of how much your food weighs.

Pros: location, hours, vegan and organic

Cons: self-service

wasnt impressed - Edit

I wasnt impressed by this place. I like the serve yourself option, that way you can have a little bit of everything if you wish, but they weigh the plate to determine the cost and I did not load up my plate yet the price was expensive for what I served myself. Also when I went, the food was lacking a lot of spices. The interior is nice though with lots of seating.

It's not all raw, thankfully - Edit

I ate here today, 31st March 2017. It is a self serve buffet set up, half of the food was cooked, half salads. I think this is good as not all vegans want to eat raw. The food is OK, nothing special though. There was no tofu or other faux products, lentils, beans, veggies. Quite pricey for what you get, but Brussels is expensive overall.

Pros: All vegan and organic, Nice seating area

Cons: The food is a bit dull, Pricey

Brilliant for vegans who don't love gluten - Edit

Organic, vegan and gluten free. It's a buffet of hot and cold dishes. You pay by the weight of the plate. I usually go crazy and load my plate up and it costs around 12 eur. Sadly it's only open until 8pm, and only on weekdays. Food can be getting a little tired towards the end of the day but I love it for the variety. Especially the gluten free crackers, hummus variations, toasted almonds and bean dishes. They have vegan cake and kefir water too.

underwhelming - Edit

It was my first time in Brussels so I don't know if that's a Brussels thing but I was overall surprised by the lack of vegan places in the "capital of the EU" as well as prices.
I've been to a lot of vegan and raw places all over the globe and I found moonfood to be rather underwhelming. We paid 40€ for 2 plates and the food was bland. My girlfriend even had to throw up afterwards.

Not something I'd give a second shot.

Pros: location?, one of very few vegan options

Cons: bland, expensive

Great Lunch - Edit

I was a little bit skeptical about coming here - I've not always been impressed by 'plate by weight' places before, and I'm not really into raw food. I just want tasty veggie food. However, I had a great experience at Moonfood. My partner & I came for a late lunch, but there was still plenty of choice, we got to try some different things, it was hot, fresh and delicious. And the interior is just lovely - very stylish, and comfortable. I guess my only (small) complaint is that I found it a little pricey, especially the drinks and desserts. But I really did enjoy the food.

Pros: Delicious food, Lovely interior, plenty of room, Good choice

Cons: A little pricey

Very nice place - Edit

A pay-per-gram restaurant. They have a wide selection of cooked and raw dishes. The food itself is very tasty, and the soup is extraordinary. We went there twice and came out pleased both times. It's not cheap, but worth the price if you're into homemade dishes.
