Great find

This was the first place I found with vegan options when first moving to North Carolina. Staff is always super friendly and they know what’s vegan and are super helpful. Many options to choose from and so far all over been really delicious.

Pros: Great options, Not too oily , Affordable

Cons: None

Hidden cheese

If u are getting an entree with vegan protein don’t assume the platter is vegan! (It had cheese...) the falafel pita was 🔥

Pros: Really good falafel

Cons: Plant based is not the default

Delicious and affordable

This place has some great options and everything I’ve tried here has been delightful. It’s also affordable at only around 7-8 bucks for an entree at lunch (depending on what you get, most of the options that are vegan are cheap). Perfect if you love Mediterranean food and good falafel!

5 stars

I’m visiting from Austin for a conference and let me just say - sooooo good. I got their tempeh pita (I didn’t see it listed on their online menu but it’s their in store) and it was INCREDIBLE. I highly recommend it. You get your choice of a side and I went with cauliflower and it came with some tahini to dip in that was delicious. Might get this again for dinner...

Delicious and inexpensive vegan Mediterranean food in Winston-Salem

My spouse and I are visiting Winston-Salem for a conference and found our way to Mooney's Med Cafe for a delightful, satisfying and inexpensive lunch.

Pros: Lots of vegan choices, well-marked on the menu, Very modestly priced, great value, Delicious and fresh, flavorful food!

Cons: Closed on Sunday, Counter, rather than table, service

A Good Treat

I've been to Mooney's a bunch. They have really good falafel (some of the best I've ever had), hummus, and baba ghanoush. There are tons of vegan and vegetarian options on the menu.

My one complaint is that it's a pit expensive for what you get, but they're downtown (so rent is high) and the food is quality.

Pros: Yummy food, Lots of options

Cons: Price

Mooney's is a great vegan option

I've eaten all the vegan items here, and they all are fantastic.

The place is low key, fast, and the service has always been great.

Make sure to try it all, but the St Francis of Assisi is a standout, their tempeh is great.

Pros: Good choices, Delicious tempeh, Fair prices and service

Yes, please!

I can't speak to many items on the menu (though the tabouli, fried cauliflower, and hummus are delightful) because every time I go it's for the falafel. I've even stopped getting it in a wrap, because I just. want. more. falafel. It's one of the few things I could probably eat every single day. The dressing is great, everything is herb-tastic, and it's a good location for a lunch walk. Price is pretty good too. Now if only they'd get rid of all that pesky meat and cheese on the menu!

Pros: Vegan options, Falafel!, Location
