Serves meat, vegan options available. Chain of licensed Mexican bar and restaurants founded 1978 in Burleigh Heads QLD. Uses Sorona-style recipes, and atmosphere is family casual. The updated vegan menu (shown online) offers a variety of choices: dips, tostadas, nachos, burritos, tacos, fajitas, multiple combination platters, and a few desserts. Uses plant-based alternatives in the vegan food, like vegan cheese and sour cream, mock chicken and beef, coconut cream. The house guacamole, hot sauce dip, frijole dip (without the cheese) are vegan. Ask for vegan beer/wine. Open Mon-Sun 12:00pm-2:00pm, 5:00pm-8:00pm.

Lots of options!

Montezuma’s have their own separate vegan menu with many options to choose from, all Mexican inspired flavours! This place is good for families and usually not a place to impress given its casual nature.

Meals are home-style cooking, not spectacular but portions are generally quite large. You will get your moneys worth here!

3 stars because it’s nothing to write home about, just another non vegan restaurant with average quality vegan options.

Tasty Mexican

Can’t go past Montezumas for plenty of vegan and gluten free Mexican options. Always fresh. Vegan cheese. Tacos and enchiladas with 2 choices of filling. Love the ranchero dip. This one didn’t give as many corn chips as other Montezumas I’ve been in but they did come out with more when they saw we had finished them all!

Pros: Mainly gluten free menu, Plenty of vegan options

Cons: Small car park off the main road
