So many vegan options, which are made from scratch and not just omitting ingredients or swapping out with fake products. Rotating seasonal menu with fresh flavorful ingredients. The gluten free pizza crust is vegan and pretty good! All the pizzas I’ve tried have been delicious. And the staff is very attentive to dietary choices/restrictions. Plus they have pints of Sticky Sweet ice cream in the freezer (along with lots of other vegan grocery items.)

I love the vegan Italian sandwich, the eggplant sandwich, and the Roman salad. The vegetables are always excellent quality, very fresh. The “bread” for the sandwiches is like crispy chewy pizza dough, so tasty. I just wish they had a vegan dessert, then I’d be all set.

I wasn’t necessarily craving Italian food, but I glanced at their menu online and thought I’d drop in. Boy I’m glad I did.... some of the best food I’ve had in Portland (aka a city jammed with bad veggie burgers and fries). Got the Roman Salad and Vegan Pepperoni Pizza. So thankful to find someone who can make an actually great salad for a change!!

A Vegan Italian! - Edit
I wandered into Monte's not expecting anything for a vegan. I was pleasantly surprised! Their Vegan Italian was great as was the caponata pizza, again vegan. They offer vegan groceries as well, and many locally made products. Next time I will try their sweet potato sandwich as a salad bowl. Sounds amazing!
