A Gem in a Small Coastal Town - Edit

Great restaurant in a small coastal Southern town! Very attentive staff and the owners both stopped by our table to speak with us! I requested their vegan menu upon arrival. It was great to have so many options for plant based choices. I tried both the pot pie and the baked sweet potato with black bean chili. They were incredible. I will definitely be back.

Pros: variety

It is so awesome that this tiny southern town has a place with a vegan menu.
The place had real southern charm, and so did everyone that came by our table. The only reason we don't plan to return is the food. We had the penne, veggieburger, pot pie, and spaghetti with "meatballs". It was all just bland and lacked real umami. Way too much for a barely edible meal.

Great New Plant-Based Options - Edit

We visited Montero's last night and ordered from their new plant-based menu-- the red pepper penne with asparaus & the veggie pot pie. Both were fantastic-- attractive, filling, and full of flavor. Our server was amazing-- he made sure to let us know that the fries would be co-mingled with meat/fish whilst in the fryer, if that was alright.

I think it's fantastic that Montero's has these options, but it's particularly good that they're labeled as being "plant-based"-- when the word "vegan" came up from our server, a woman at a nearby table seemed... less than pleased... it's still very much a small town. ;-)

Pros: Attractive & Delicious Entrees, Quiet Atmosphere, Friendly Staff & Owner

Cons: No Plant-Based Desserts or Appetizers
