Great Indian food in Hampton

Dedicated vegetarian section that includes lots of clearly marked vegan dishes (with a green V). There are other vegan options scattered throughout the menu.

We had the Assorted Veg Bites appetizer, Aloo Gobhi, Chana Masala, and Roti (the only vegan bread option). All entrees come with basmati rice.

On the appetizer plate, the Samosa was the best (though the other items were quite good as well). Both entrees were excellent, as were the rice and Roti.

We don’t like things too spicy, and I remember from a previous visit that their spice range runs on the high side. We ordered everything at a level 1, and it all turned out just fine. The Chana Masala was still just a tad on the spicy side, but when we put it on the rice, it was perfect.

Everything was flavorful, service was perfect (great advice from our server), and the atmosphere was calm.

Pros: Vegan choices clearly marked. , Great flavors. , Helpful staff.

Cons: Spice levels can be higher than expected!

Great food, lots of choices

They have a lunch menu with a couple of vegan options. Most dishes you can choose veggies for the protein. They have a large vegetarian section and the vegan items are clearly marked with a green V. The food was delicious and my omnivorous friends said this was their favorite Indian restaurant. This is a good place for veg heads as well as a mixed group.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Delicious dishes, Clearly marked menu

Cons: Slower, more relaxed (but friendly) service

Lots of options, great flavors

This place is great! A bit pricey but definitely worth it. 4 vegan appetizers, 1 vegan bread option, and about 8-10 vegan entrees. Staff was friendly, food was prompt. Yummy indian beer. Several options for those that do not enjoy the specific curry flavor. I will be back many times and recommend this place to others.

It's really 5 stars

This is an amazing restaurant. The food is absolutely fantastic and not too expensive for the quality. I also got a smoothie and it was by far the best I've ever had. It's a wonderful environment with very nice staff and it was very easy for me to find vegan options.

Good enough Indian food

The menu has the vegetarian and vegan entrees fairly well-marked. The food is generally better than either Nawab or Rajput, but none of our local Indian restaurants are as good or as vegan-friendly as the offerings in large metropolitan areas. My husband and one of his college buddy's are also vegan, and they also prefer Monsoon over the other local places.

Last week we ordered broccoli with mushrooms, roti, and the vegan dal. The bread does not come for free with the meal, and that is my only complaint. Also, the lunch special, which I have not had for a while, comes with non-vegan naan bread. The servers are pretty good about helping you with anything that is not clearly identified as vegan or not (bread, appetizers, etc.).

The price is not cheap (about 13 dollars for a bowl of lentils), but it is on par with other restaurants in its class. They have cloth tablecloths and napkins, with stylish asymetrical bowls, square plates, etc. They have made an effort to have a stylish decor and nice presentation. The location is easy to find, near Macy's department store.

The spice level here is quite high. If you order a 2 or 3, it will be hot by American standards (not Indian-hot). I have been here about 5 or 6 times.

Pros: flavorful food, nice decor, good location

Cons: not cheap, bread costs extra, need more vegan items
