OK only

Nice looking place located under a busy bridge, but covers street noise with loud music. You have to order and pay at the counter and they'll bring the food to your table.
Plenty of dishes available if which only a few are vegan. Not cheap, but also not breaking the bank. The food was ok, but rather bland. Especially the vegan lechon kawari didn't have any spice at all.

OK because there are not many options in town, but didn't live up to expectations.

Pros: Has vegan dishes, Nice setup

Cons: Not much choice for vegans, Food rather bland

Some tasty dishes

They do have some well made vegan dishes. Their fire bowl is the one I like the most among all their vegan dishes that I’ve tried. It was very tasty and spicy. Their unsisig was also decent but not as good as their fire bowl. Their crispy pork ban mi burger was a bit too sweet. Their garlic lechon kawali was very realistic in terms of looks and texture, but it was a bit too bland and not as garlicy as one would hope given what it’s called. I think they should add some salt to it at the very least.

The place wasn’t difficult to find and the service was ok.

Edit: After trying the lechon kawali once more, I have to say it’s better than the first one I had.

Veg but not impressive for vegans

Veg food with a strong emphasis on non-vegan. Vegan food is edible but not much more. Staff have no idea what vegan is or which dishes could be veganized. Menu has vegan-labelled options but these are only optionally vegan, often simply by removing cheese, egg, milk. One of the only all-vegetarian places in Iloilo City - although the marshmallows may not even be vegetarian.

Pros: Vegan brownie was quite dense but OK

Cons: Buddha bowl

Great Vegetarian Place

This is the best vegetarian place I found in Iloilo and one of the better vegetarian places I’ve found anywhere in the Philippines (where I’ve lived for 12 years). Good menu, nice space, friendly staff, very reasonable prices.

Gaslighting staff

Ordered vegan sisig but they brought it with mayo and egg. Staff instead tried to gaslight instead of taking responsibility.

Cons: Poor customer service

Great, well priced vegan food!

Located close to the SM shopping mall, this vegan restaurant offers a great selection of Filipino and Western style dishes.

A great place for vegans

So far I havent found any vegan restaurants in Iloilo city and I must say that this place is the best because they have a lot of vegan options. We ate here twice, ordered different meals on each visit and I must say, the food always tasted great

Delicious vegetarian restaurant, lots of vegan options!

Lots of Filipino dishes turned vegan, or easily vegan with omissions of egg or sauces. There’s also different Asian, American, Mexican dishes, bowls and salads!

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Filipino dishes , Inexpensive

Iloilo option

Great menu…nice venue. Food items turned up one by one over a long period and one of them was forgotten. Food a bit mixed… but would try again.

Pros: Massive menu of fully vegetarian options, Nice open air setting

Cons: Slightly sporadic service

Goodbye...Third Time Is A Charm!

I’ve decided to take a positive stance to never be a patron of @monkeygrounds in Iloilo City again. This has happened time and times again with no restitution (refund). Stop taking advantage of people in the city on your claims, quality and quantity in your ads. It’s unethical and immoral practice. You claim to have the same values as a vegan but your practice shows otherwise. Shame on you.

Pros: Salads, Coffee, Bread

Cons: Quality, Quanity, Temperature

Didn't expect.

My sister introduced me to this place. They got vegan meals which I never expected. They even got lechon kawali vegan. Try also the sisig which is stoked, just ask to remove the egg. Nice place but need some improvements but overall it's a great place and definitely will recommend this to my friends.

Pros: Got vegan options.

Cons: Fairly enough.

Vegan options!

My husband and I stumbled in here as we were walking across Diversion Rd from Anytime Fitness.. It’s tough to see from the road but it’s underneath the footbridge.

There was a good handful vegan options. We had the Fire Bowl (crispy tofu with a tasty not-too-spicy sauce on a bed of rice) and the Buddha Bowl (it was tasty too except the avocado lime dressing tasted “off”.. likely a local lime/kalamansi instead of the type we’re used to). Coffee was great as well! Would come back here again :)

Pros: Coffee shop vibe, Good service , A/C

Cons: Out of a few vegan options at the time

A little veg haven in Iloilo

It would be easy to miss this place so watch for it. It’s across the street from the Diversion 21 hotel near the pedestrian overpass, next to a Bridgestone tire place.

I had the Gorilla Burger and a banana shake. Both were excellent. The G-Burger is 2 mushroom patties and loaded with fixings including onion rings. The small serving of fries was just the right amount (and actually tasted like potatoes!!). The banana shake was sublime.

I will definitely come back!!

Pros: Vegan options , Nice big outdoor patio, Friendly staff

Cons: Easy to miss, so look for the landmarks I noted!

Worth supporting!

As one of the only vegetarian restaurants in Iloilo it does deserve support. Vegan options are limited, but there are.. I can highly recommend the "grilled veggies sandwich" with vegan pesto.. "garlic lechon kawali" was interesting, but a little too deep fried for my taste.
