Super cool venue with tasty vegan dishes

Been meaning to make a visit to this place for a while, read the great reviews and a decent vegan venue is just what Nottingham needs. It didn't disappoint!
The great thing about Molly's is that it's in The Hockley Emporium which has lots of great vintage and alternative clothes and goodies for sale too.
Their current summer menu has both hot and cold options and I had the Piri Piri burger which was super yummy and came with coleslaw and fries. All freshly prepared, great service and super friendly staff.
Had a fab experience overall and this will now be a regular eatery for me with great views of town and cool shopping!
Thankyou Molly's I will be back!!

Lovely tea/coffee and cake!

What a cool vintage café! It is secretely 100% vegan. They have a great deal of tea/coffee plus cake for 5£! We had the carrot and lemon drizzle cake and both were big and incredibly juicy and flavourful! Even my omni dad approved!😁 Additional oat milk is free of charge and the service was extra friendly and attentive! Recommended!

Lovely little place

We had burgers followed by tea and cake. The food and drinks were lovely and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
Level entrance in the front making it wheelchair accessible however the toilets aren't accessible as they are up 2 floors.

Bonus points for gender neutral toilets and being dog friendly.

Disappointed

Small space I had never been to before. When I realised it was vegan I thought I should support it.
I had a ginger beer and mushroom stroganoff.
Ginger beer cheep can(all artificial flavouring and sweeteners). I noted the other soft drinks all from Coca-Cola. An environmentally destructive company. Even worse now when we should be trying to boycott US products!
The food was just tasteless. White rice that tasted like it had come from boil in a bag. Stroganoff was just mushrooms cooked with spinach. Apparently made to 'secret recipe', but just mushrooms and spinach cooked in a pan. Not sure if that qualifies as stroganoff.
If it cost a £5 you might think OK, but it was nearly £12.
I really wanted to like this place, maybe the other stuff tastes of something interesting.

Pros: Interesting space , Pleasant service

Cons: Food , Soft drinks

Rustic cafe within vintage emporium

Popped in for cake and a drink as noticed on Facebook there was a vegan cafe here and also the kitchen is run by the vegan pub called Golden Fleece. We only wanted cake so ordered off the Molly Coffee House menu which stated that it was an all vegan place so not sure about the description above, maybe they used to be veggie?

The cakes we had (ginger cake, and a banana cake) were both dry. Not a great range of soft drinks but I did welcome the cold OJ as it was a very hot day.

The toilets are upstairs, many flights of sloping steps, with a tight squeeze in the cubicles.

Brilliant Breakfast Burrito

I’d never noticed this place before so I don’t know if it’s new, or if I’m blind - either way, it was the first time for me and I really enjoyed the fare. The breakfast menu looked great with a choice between a full breakfast, pancakes, a tofu scramble, the breakfast burrito, and another option or two that escape me at the minute.

Suffice it to say that I very much enjoyed the burrito - the filling included tofu, vegan sausage, aubergine bacon (whatever that means), buttery mushrooms, baby tomatoes, and possibly hash brown, and was very nice and filling. The prices were all pretty reasonable compared to anywhere else, so I can’t speak highly enough of everything.

There’s also an afternoon menu served from 2pm (when the breakfast menu stops).

Pros: Great Food, Fairly Priced, Quick Service

Cons: Nothing
