Breakfast

Serves Ital vegan food and juices to the local population in a self-built small wooden restaurant near the Castries fruit and vegetable market. Reported fully vegan as of Dec 2018. It is in the 2nd row of little shops across the road from Castries Carpark. Limited seating. Get there before 8am for breakfast as it sells out quickly to local workers. Get there before 2pm to get some choices for lunch. Keeps serving drinks and snacks even when all the main food has sold out. Open Mon-Sun 7:30am-4:00pm.

Closed down?

Map routing to building site, local search suggests it has closed down.

Delicious and inexpensive local food

We arrived on a cruise ship, this was located right near the port. It was after 1 when I arrived at the restauraunt, so they had only one meal option left. It was very good and filling.

Pros: Filling local style food, Inexpensive, Convenient

Cons: Limited selection

Nice vegan option :)

Since vegan restaurants are limited in St. Lucia, we were very happy to see Mokocho Cuisine. Affordable and delicious!! Solely the chickpea burger could be more flavorful😄

Great food

The choice we had was one option. The large plate. There was nothing left. But we went with it and it was so tasty! Plantain, sweet potato, corn bread, peas and chickpea curry, fresh salad and quinoa all for 20 ECD. Very full after and the flavours were amazing. Would be nice to try something else next time

Pros: Great flavour, Good portion, Well priced

Cons: Didn’t have any other options

Delicious & Fresh

Made to order hot meal. Fresh and tasty with variety local veggies and beans.

*note the it has moved locations and is now on the water side of the market in a food container area with parking.

Pros: Unique and fresh made with ingredients on hand. , Can add hot sauce if you want more of a kick. , Friendly service

Cons: Very popular and runs out of options quickly.

Great vegan food in the heart of Castries

We read about Mokocho on Happy Cow and it was just as described. Located right off the market, it’s a small wooden structure in a row of restaurants and shops. The food was excellent and Mokocho is an amazing person. Highly recommended!

Important place to visit in Castries!

Small, cute, local. Very friendly cook. Non touristic vibe. Amazing food. And delicious hot sauce (but intense!).

Food is amazing

One of the afternoon we decided to go down town and have some proper I-tal vegan food and I have to say the food was delicious you have to get there early they open 5am-5pm but by 4pm they sell most food out but it’s something you must have if you vegan or vegetarian

Pros: Excellent food, Great value, Friendly staff

Cons: Small place, Delicious food, Nice vibe

Good food, good vibes

I found Mokocho from Happy Cow. I really enjoyed my veggie platter. The people inside were also really nice and helpful.

I also got a veggie wrap and burger to go, as the next day was a holiday and I wasn't sure if I'd find veggie food. They were both delicious.

I recommend coming here if you're in Castries City.

not to be missed!

Mokocho is a lovely local man and a good cook to boot !
We first arrived towards the end of lunch and were fed so much good food -including juices and dessert- that we just sat around digesting and taking part in the constant banter between mokocho and the steady stream if locals who have been coming to him for healthy food and tasty tonic drinks for many years.

If you're veggie, this place is not to be missed...not that there's a lot of competition! But it made return customers of us.

Pros: friendly, affordable, a lot of tasty options

Cons: uses a lot of styrofoam, cramped seating when busy
