Great Vegan-Friendly Restaurant with a Relaxing Atmosphere - Edit
I visited this restaurant after finding it on Google Maps, hoping that it would be vegan as it seemed to be from the pictures. I was in luck!
Read moreI was impressed by how many vegan options there were, and there wasn't any meat on the menu at all! One lunch option did have egg, but there were two that were totally plant-based!
I asked the woman who runs the shop if everything was vegan and she said that sometimes she uses egg, dairy, and honey. However, the two lunch options that we ordered (curry and ratatouille) were vegan-friendly.
Additionally, all of the sweets that were there that day (muffins, cookies, scones) were vegan and were labeled as not containing animal products.
The drink menu had a variety of tasty-looking drinks including coffee, matcha, and several kinds of lattes which you can order with soy milk instead of cow's milk. There is also juice and herb tea.
This is the only vegan-friendly shop in Tsuruta that I know of, and I am so happy to have found it! I will definitely be going back again soon.
The food was good and the shop's atmosphere was nice. There is also a really interesting shop next door that sells Japanese antique items. It opens a little later though, around 1pm.
Definitely check out this shop if you are in the area!
Pros: delicious, many vegan options, good atmosphere and location, an oasis in a vegan food desert
