Great breakfast options!

The French toast was great, decent coffee. Would love to come back to try more! They seemed to be 95% vegan, might as well do away with the final couple items!

Best convenient affordable mostly veg place in town

You need to go because:
1) They have BRUNCH
2) The vast majority of the menu is vegan
3) It's right there in MidCity near everything

But also, the staff are great and the ambiance is nice. There's enough "healthy" genre food you can easily get most omnis to eat there, and then if they're really ornery they can get that one meat dish, and everyone's happy. It's not overpriced. They have great soups made in house daily. For the gluten free AND vegan this place could be heaven.

Get the cauliflower wrap and the soup. Then go back on Saturday and get everything on the brunch menu but especially the grits. You're welcome.

Pros: almost completely vegan, BRUNCH that's almost all vegan, adorable and convenient place

Cons: too much of the desserts are gluten free

Awesome deliciousness!! 5-stars!

Wow!! Another awesome find!! I've passed this place a few times but never even thought to check it out. Well, that all changed today and I'll definitely be a regular. This place has an awesome variety of vegan and vegetarian options. I had the sweet heat wrap, which was soooo good. The iced hibiscus tea was perfect to wash it down. I purchased a carrot cake cupcake to go, which was also amazing!! The staff was super amazing (so attentive and sweet). I'll definitely be back to try something new. Too bad Happy Cow only allows 4 stars for this spot…they deserve 5 for sure! Check'em out if you're in the area.

Tasty except for the cupcakes

I liked the wraps and tofu scramble… but also bought 2 gluten free carrot cupcakes and those suck! A hard sugar paste on top and the flavor not good at all. I had to trash them. You need a better pastry chef

Pros: Wraps

Cons: Carrot cupcakes gluten free yeakkk

5 stars!

This is a plant based restaurant! They only have one meat option. Also, this is the most kindhearted establishment run by people who love what they do!

Pros: My favorite is the Buffalo cauliflower pizza

Yummy and plant forward!

Passing through and I don't think there were any 100% vegan places so we gave MJs a try. We devoured our food and totally forgot to take pics, it was that delicious. I had the cauliflower wrap and my partner had the black bean torta they were both so yummy, the torta was extra special I think because of the vegan chipotle mayo which gave it a great smoky flavor. Wraps come with soup or salad, I had the soup of the day which was vegan corn chowder, so good! Would definitely come through again.

Plant based deliciousness!

MJs was a cute café with excellent service and food options! It’s almost completely vegan with just a few dishes with cheese and one with shrimp. Very plant forward offerings, natural and minimally processed. Even my in-laws who do not eat vegan enjoyed, so you know it was good! They have rotating salads, soups, and sweets. The salads are loaded with toppings and not bland at all. They even have vegan froyo (tasted like softer serve) that was INCREDIBLE!

Pros: Plant based, Many options , Froyo

Cons: Not completely vegan

Fabulous!

I had the kale salad, my husband had the hippie veggie sandwich and my son had the blt (coconut bacon). We also got the hummus as an appetizer. All were delicious, all were vegan!!! My son isn’t vegan and didn’t know if he would like it, but he ate it all! A must try if you are in Baton Rouge.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Fresh ingredients , Healthy

Cons: If you get a salad, they aren’t huge, but enough , Go early because they can run out of items

Always loved them at white star, proud of their new movement

They were awesome at white star, glad to see then have their own location. They did expand to more than just vegan, but they're still plant-based. Still delicious

Pros: Lot of great options

Cons: Kind of pricey but I haven't seen vegan that isn't

Great simple choices

So you want some salad, soup or wrap at the White Star Market that is healthful and vegan? You're set if you go here! The food is good and filling. Little old ladies like it - really, I saw some there.

The cookies and cupcakes too are vegan, and they were gluten free when I was there.

They have falafel and soup, and they have breakfast foods too like a tart and breakfast wrap.

It's homestyle food that's all vegan and can be gluten free - they have gluten free bread. I do wish they had more salad options though. Portions are good for the prices!

Pros: Vegan, Cookies and cupcakes gluten free, Fresh

Cons: Needs more salads

Super Cute!

The place and location is super cute! I am so happy that one of the very few vegan/vegetarian places in BR is a yummy one. Definitely will visit more often when I am in town:) I had The Vegan sandwich and it came with a side of pretzels. It was very tasty!

Best place for vegans and vegetarians!

There is no meat on the menu. The closest thing is a shrimp sandwich. The rest is all vegetarian and a few vegan options. Soups, salads and sandwiches, open weekday lunch only. Super delicious and organic food, farm to table. Made fresh.

Pros: Organic, Fresh, Vegan options

Cons: Not many vegan options, Closed on weekends, Limited seating
