Serves meat, vegan options available. Misters Bistro creates in-house vegan cheeses and dressings that are used in a number of dishes, such as mushroom strudel, miso tofu, chipotle beet burger, cashew cheesecake and a number of other desserts. All vegan items are marked on the menu. Restaurant has an emphasis on farm-to-table cooking and features a large small plate menu as well as the larger plate menu. Reported closed May 2022.

A Gem in Old Forge - Edit
Last night we stopped in to Misters Bistro for dinner. The place is really cute from the outside and on the inside it also has a cool wood focused classy deer decore. The seating options are good. Our server was amazing really great service. The menu has an array of vegetarian and vegan friendly dishes. And they have pages of drink choices. We got two house salads, The sweet potato and black bean burger with jalapeños on the side, and Arancini, which was a pretty dish featuring squash cranberry and sprouts primarily.
Read moreThe house salads were incredible. They were beautiful to look at, very colorful, and or such a great balance of a variety of flavors. They definitely are your basic iceberg lettuce with a couple tomato house salad.
The Arancini was really delicious as well. It was a nice addition to our salad and burger. Very flavorful, colorful, nutritious, and the whole cranberries added such a nice pop while eating the purée of squash.
The burger was surely tasty as were the fries on the side. The actual burger itself is a little more machine than I would’ve liked. I think I would’ve liked it a little more firm if possible I know that could be a little hard to get to consistency wise.
We also got hot tea. On the menu it says “hot tea service”. That statement paired with how fancy the place felt Made his service sounds pretty exciting. They just ended up bringing a mini personal pot we could stick your teabag to Steve. The mini personal part was the same size as a mug. There was a little pre-spin that came with it also. I would’ve expected having a couple cubes of sugar honey or lemon as options to add to your tea considering the name tea service.
While we were there they did not have suture then went out yesterday. They also didn’t have the vegan cheese necessary for the Whipped feta plate. Additionally there is no vegan option for dessert.
Next time it will be fun to try the extensive cocktail menu. And I hope they get more vegan options. We weren’t wearing fancy clothes but that was okay.
We enjoyed our time there and can definitely see ourselves going back!

Excellent - Edit
This is a very cute restaurant in the heart of Old Forge. It centers on vegetarian/vegan options also with attention to other dietary restrictions. I was pleased to have so many vegan options! I had to have my family order different things so I could try multiple dishes. They also have nice cocktails. Both desserts were vegan also! Our server also did an excellent job! Just be sure to make reservations ahead of time.

Best gourmet vegan food ever!! - Edit
I can't begin to describe how incredible the food is here! While they do serve meat, there are several vegan options for appetizers and entrees and always 1 vegan dessert. We had Utica Greens, maple glazed brussel sprouts, mushroom strudel, acorn squash mac n cheez, asparagus and butternut squash. We finished with dessert which was peach crisp served with homemade pistachio ice cream. Everything was as if it was made specifically for our tastebuds! The restaurant itself was cozy, elegant and very tastefully decorated. Food was promptly served. They also have a super cool selection of fancy mixed drinks.

Delicious but very chinsey portions - Edit
Food and drinks were excellent but why 3 stars? Very ridiculous portions with not that great service. Ordered the scallop appetizer- delicious but only 1 average size scallop- everyone thought it was rediculous that they could not spare more than 1 scallop for $11. Main dish mushroom strudel for $22 was again excellent but very modest portion for $22. I am not a "bulk" eater and prefer less food that is good food but the portions were so skimpy. We were starving and asked for bread 3 times and what arrived for 4 people was really only enough for 2. Having said that, the chicken, salmon surf and turf mains were small but delicious and the drinks were excellent but it will be a long time before we go back because of the minuscule portions which did not justify the prices charged.
