I ordered the 'Crispy Carrot and Coconut Balls on a bed of vegetables' which was 10 euros. When it arrived I thought I was receiving a complimentary side dish because it was that small. It was a tiny plate with 4 very small carrot coconut balls on top of a few shreds of zucchini. My guinea pigs wouldn't even be satisfied with this sort of portion size. My mum who was with me ordered the 'vegan tofu burger on a mixed seed bun with oven roasted potatoes' - firstly, it was a chickpea patty not tofu, secondly, the bun was plain not mixed seed, and thirdly, they were fried potato chips not oven roasted potatoes. This was 13 euros however a much better portion size. Overall, I would say do not waste your time or money unless you are on a starvation diet. I would rate 1 star if it was possible.
I also overheard a conversation between a couple and the owner as we were waiting to pay. They were there reviewing the restaurant and the owner completely ignored us standing there, money in hand, as he tried to charm them into writing a good review. Too bad he ignored somebody else who would be writing a review.

Cons: Expensive, Ridiculously tiny portions, Staff not very helpful

Not Worth It - Edit

Service was a bit slow. Beautiful atmosphere and setting though.

The meal was 18 euros and when it came it was TINY. Literally tiny. Le Fate was 25 euro but at least it was like 4x the portion size.

It tasted ok but needed more. So we ordered bread and it was completely dry and hard.

For pudding (as I was still hungry) I got a chocolate cake which was delicious.

Overall, I wouldn't bother coming here.

Pros: Beautiful place, Delicious pudding

Cons: Tiny portion, Dry and hard bread, Over-priced

Nice lunch, quiet and relaxing atmosphere - Edit

I had lunch at Miso di Riso today with my girlfriend. There were very few customers, so the atmosphere was very quiet and relaxing. The place is nice and colorful and I am sure that in a season different from the really hot summer of Firenze the garden would be a great place to eat!

We had a main dish each (there are plenty of vegan options in the menu; I had the vegan piadina with cicoria, she had the felafels), some bread, a bottle of water, one cake each (the chocolate and cranberry cake was ok, and my girlfriend was very satisfied with her créeme brulée), and one coffee. At the end we paid slightly more than 40 euros, which I would say that is more than the average at lunchtime in the centre of Florence. At the end we were both satisfied with (but not blown away by) the food, and we liked the place a lot.

Ah, everything is on sale inside: chairs, tables, plants... :--)

Pros: Everything organic, Plenty of vegan options

Cons: Slightly more expensive than average

Great heathy food, ambiance and friendly service - Edit

Healthy, tasty and good-for-you food. Owners were great, every dish I had was tasty. Cuban chef made tasty specialities. A calm and replenishing ambiance if you are bored with rushing crowds outside. Lots of healthy veg snacks to buy on the way out.

Pros: Healthy food, Friendly and knowledgeable owners, Great cooking!

Cons: none

Beautiful cozy place, but very overpriced.. - Edit

Me and my boyfriend we were happy to find a nice cozy place to eat, the menu was full of vegan options, only when we got our meal we were quite shocked..portions were very small, tasteless, and we left half hungry. And if in the menu is written "seaweed salad" you expect to eat seaweed salad, but not just a lettuce with few pieces of cucumber and tomatoes and a teaspoon of algaes.
Usually I don't write bad comments, but this time ,I got upset about using vegan, organic, raw etc. food to take advantage.

Pros: Cute place, nice service

Cons: Portions are super small, expensive, overpriced, f

lovely and relaxing place - Edit

Excellent service in English. The waitress was very friendly and helped me to choose a portion that was gluten and dairy free. I ate a quiche made of lentil flour and a side salad. The food was tasty, although the portion could have been bigger. I was left a bit hungry, but that only made a good excuse to try the vegan & gluten free chocolate cake. A rare treat!
What I loved the most was the atmosphere. I ate my lunch in a cosy inner yard with lots of plants. A welcome break from the noisy streets of Florence. Will definitely go again.

Pros: friendly staff, gluten free friendly, atmosphere

love it! - Edit

My mom (pesca) and I (vegan) chose to come here solely on the basis of proximity and a few good reviews while walking around Florence as tepid Americans. My mom was very patient traveling with a vegan, but this restaurant made her day and really proved how delicious vegan cooking can be.

Most items are vegan. She got the falafel cakes and died over the beans that came with. I got the vegan hot dog and HOLY MOLY was I SHOCKED at how good it was! Haven't had a hot dog in forever but this wAs probably the best I've ever had vegan or not.

No vegan menu but the waitress spoke English and offered to translate anything we needed help with.

So good, I wish I could find a recipe for the hot dogs.

A surprisingly lovely vegetarian/vegan restaurant - Edit

In the midst of so many identikit tourist pizzerias, my boyfriend and I were really surprised to find such a lovely little restaurant in the heart of Florence. The decor was very charming, the atmosphere relaxed, the staff were lovely and spoke perfect English - the choice of food was extensive and varied (there were a lot of really nice beers and teas on offer too!) and perhaps most importantly, the food itself was great. If you're looking for a refreshing break from the ubiquitous margherita pizza that you end up eating every night on holiday as a vegetarian, then this is the place for you!

Tasty seitan burger and friendly staff - Edit

I was a little bit hesitant to go there based on the reviews, but I am very glad I decided to go in anyway!
I sat outside which was very lovely and very quiet so for a moment you can forget about all the tourists.
I ordered the vegan seitan burger and it was really tasty! I have been eating a lot of fastfood on my travels and I have to say this was one of the best burgers so far. I love how they add sauteed onions to give you the real burger experience and the sauce was very good as well.
They serve some baked potatoes with the burger and a nice salad. I found the portion was quite big and filling.

After the burger I ordered the desert but was a little bit disappointing. I ordered the almond pudding which was allright but nothing special and a very small portion.

Unlike some other experiences written down here, the staff was very friendly and spoke English.

Pros: Good food, Friendly staff, Quiet outside area

Cons: Dessert was a bit disappointing

Beautiful setting, lots of vegan options - Edit

We had a lovely late evening meal here. We both had the potato gnocchi (radicchio is rather bitter, so an acquired taste). The texture and flavour of the gnocchi was very good indeed. The service was prompt and friendly. All the vegan choices were clearly marked: they have two symbols, a green 'v' for vegan, and a black 'v' for vegan on request. We also had the two vegan desserts and tea (from the very extensive tea menu).

If the pasta has left you feeling overstuffed, this is a great way to enjoy some easy to digest vegan fare.

Pros: Clearly marked vegan options, stunning setting, fr

Poor value for money - Edit

This is the kind of place that gets veggie and vegan restaurants a bad name. The waitress looked anorexic and the guy at the cash desk seemed to carry all the world's problems on his shoulders and didn't smile or make a friendly comment.

I ordered falafel and guacamole for 11 euros. In due course three measly falafels and the tiniest dollop of guacamole arrived - a portion that was at most a starter, not a main course and definitely not value for money. The guacamole tasted good but the falafel had neither the expected taste nor texture and was inferior to what one gets in any kebab shop. If I hadn't asked for some bread (for which they charge 2 euros) I'd have left starving.

Maybe a nice place for a quiet cup of tea but definitely not recommended for a hearty meal.

Pros: Tranqui

Cons: Poor value for money, Indifferent food, Staff not friendly

delightful food - Edit

The food was very good, light but warm in the detail to flavor. It was clear each item was prepared individually with care and craft. I would return again when in need of a meal close to Duomo. The servers were hesitant to speak English, but I enjoyed how spoke Italian to me. The space is huge.

Nice, homey meal - Edit

Despite other negative reviews here, I like Miso di Riso. The dining room is covered in amateur art (collegy level), plants, and lanterns, and you can sit outside in the summer I think.

The food is pretty average vegan fare- I wasn't blown away, but nor was I disappointed. Apart from a couple dishes being unavailable that night, we did not have any disappointments like our food not being vegan.

They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner-- breakfast seems like a promising meal for vegans here.

Back the Eighties - but why should we? - Edit

A disappointment from the beginning to the end.

Nice atmosphere, though, but the kind of place you feel you need to grateful to be allowed to be their guest.

The menu is not really overwhelming, neither subtle nor very original, vegan fast-food at best, though quite pricey. Some things from the menu were out, everything took quite long, and was not more than average bistro-class, not living up to the attitude, nor less to their prices.

As of the dolce, only carrot cake and apple cake were vegan, the first was hard as rock, the latter mashy and tasteless.

To me, this seemed like the kind of restaurant where omnivore people leave with the feeling that vegan cuisine might be healthy, but definitely tasteless, and that they will go there never again. Nor will I.

Pros: A nice and quiet courtyard, Pretty, though heavy earthenware

Cons: Very few vegan items, Tasteless and stony cakes, Little or no creativity in menu

slow service - average food - Edit

Kitchen was closed at 5pm. So I chose a quiche which was ok, but nothing special and which took the waitress quite a long time to bring to our table (although we where the only costumers).
The vegan milk and ment drink was very good. My wife got an almond milk cappuccino which was more a normal coffee mixed with milk and a bit disappointing. There is not really any art on display like the description mentiones but rather handmade items which are for sale.

Pros: Nice interior, Good selection of pastry and quiches

Cons: Kitchen closes early, Slow service

One disappointment after another - Edit

I heard mixed reviews about this place so I was scared to try it (and I should have been). But when I got there and saw the menu I was presently surprised that most of the stuff was labeled vegan. So I decided on a Caesar salad with seitan. I got it to go and walked 10 minutes back to my hotel only to find that it was covered in Parmesan cheese. At this point I was so angry that I walked all the way back to show them and either get my money back or get a new one. I showed a waiter that it was labeled vegan on the menu not vegetarian. And they all apologized except the chef who said that I needed to specify if I wanted it vegan. Excuse me for assuming that something labeled vegan was actually vegan. So they remade it and were very kind about it. But the salad was just not good at all. The "Caesar" dressing just tastes like mayo and the seitan was like a tofurkey sausage. I feel disgusting. This is such a disappointing way to leave Florence after all of the good food I have had. If you go here make sure to specify you want vegan!!! don't take for granted that it is labeled as vegan. (It won't let me give it lover than 2 stars)
