Good food but extremely slow service - Edit

The food is good, but the service is slow as it is one person doing everything. This doesn’t necessarily mean it’s bad, but the girl who worked there took 35 minutes to make two Buddha bowls with only one person who ordered beforehand (and ordered the same thing as well). This is probably due to her chopping a huge bowl of carrots and chitchatting with her friend at the bar instead of focusing on preparing the customers’ food.

A shame since a Buddha bowl usually takes little time to prepare - given you have prepared all your ingredients before opening for orders.

Pros: Cheap, Nice food

Cons: 1 person kitchen

Healthy & Wholesome Meals - Edit

The staff are super friendly. Really cosy environment, would suggest visiting alone or in a pair as the space is very small. We had Buddha bowls and kombucha and it was lovely. Would recommend if you’re looking for a healthy veg dish in Tokyo.

Pros: healthy & authentic

Cons: tiny

Particular, cozy, vegan (and ruled by a cat) - Edit

MiseLMA is a very small cafe in Higashi-Shinjuku which lately became fully vegan.
We have been welcomed by the cat Annie and the manager Takako, who served us a plate of brown rice with spirulina and four different side dishes, plus roasted potato. The taste was very interesting, kind of experimental and creative.
The cafe itself has very few seats, which imho is a pro. I could recommend to go just by yourselves and enjoy a talk with the chef Takako, a very interesting person. She can speak English.

Pros: Lately it became fully vegan, Annie the cat!, English spoken

Tiny cafe/bar, nice atmosphere, daily hours and menu - Edit

The food was good (daily lunch bowl, rice with a number of different sides in a fairly common Japanese style). It felt pretty wholesome after ramen and burgers elsewhere. The tea was fantastic, and the coffee was also great- a rare combination. Don't expect a huge number of menu options, and call ahead to check since lunch is only available until sold out.

I recommend petting the very friendly cat, as well, who spent most of the time during my visit watching passers-by out the window.

The owner speaks good English.

Pros: changing menu, great tea, nice atmosphere

Cons: limited options, small shop
