Clueless staff and no clearly marked vegan options although saying they could swap out the egg to make it vegan still brought out a non vegan dish!

Avoid! (Particularly if you have allergies) - Edit
If you have an allergy I would not recommend even booking to eat here. I called asking to make a table reservation and stated that I had a nut allergy. I asked if they had anything suitable for me with an allergy and the response I got was, “We don’t do nut allergy”. I think this speaks volumes about how seriously they would be taking someone who is vegan or has other allergies/intolerances.

We had a really horrible experience here that just put a sour taste in our mouths. We saw a counter with ice creams and drinks and wanted to stop and have a little break. However, although not made clear ANYWHERE at this place, you are not allowed to buy an ice cream and then sit down and eat it. The ice cream counter is takeaway only. This is not signposted anywhere. The tables are table service only, which is also not made clear. There are no menus on the tables and there are almost no wait staff around. After we had been sat for some time, a waiter started harassing us for sitting down to eat. There were many, and I mean MANY free tables, this guy just seemed to want to start a conflict. I'm also noting that he came to the table to argue with me multiple times, but only when my (male) partner was not there. I would not recommend going here as a woman alone due to the possibility of being harassed by aggressive male staff. Ice cream was already melting when we got it, so was not good to eat

Okay restaurant by the beach - Edit
This is a lovely place by the Portobello beach. I had a falafel wrap without tzatziki to make it vegan. It was delicious and a huge portion.

HORRIBLE service - Edit
Awful experience, food forgotten about & over an hour late. Service was HORRIBLE. Embarrassed to say not only the manger, but the owner, dealt with it terribly. Do not recommend, absolutely will not go back.
Read morePLUS they appeared to be bullying & member of staff & said a mistake which was through the fault of either the kitchen or the initial server, was to come out from the wait staffs pay (who was trying hard best to deal with the situation).

Limited choice - Edit
Last year there was a far better choice of vegan dishes and now there isn't any. The chef was happy to make the pasta and faffel wrap vegan but really disappointing compared to last year. There are such better omni restaurants with vegan choices in Portobello.
