I don't even know where to start! I've never had Sri Lankan food, but I'm always up for a new culinary adventure. The reviews sounded great, and the pictures looked good, and all of it made for an amazing foodie experience! The ambiance is very warm and welcoming with an indoor dining room and even better, a spacious outdoor patio with lights everywhere and heat lamps for chilly weather, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the food is outstanding! The combination of flavors, heat levels, spices, and all the love that was obviously poured into it combined to make it a fantastic meal. They have lots of gluten-free options as well. Even the meat eaters would be happy. I highly recommend a visit!

Visiting Portland with my son and knew we had to come here after reading the reviews. Honestly words cannot describe how incredible our meals were. Every single thing was so delicious. The portion size is generous. Service was friendly and fast. Will most certainly return.

The first thing is you have stand in line to order. Not a problem unless it is raining. The line to order moves very slowly. The food was really hit or miss. Some of the items were good but others not at all. We tried 10 different dishes. Also many of the dishes were room temperature when they should have been hot. We ordered a sampler that was supposed to feed two to three people. It actually was too much for four adults and one child. The roast pan was described as crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It was a large piece of stale bread. It took two hands to break a piece off.

hello! sorry you didn't enjoy your meal. Two notes for what it's worth: 1. one of the ramps to our bar is covered and protected from the rain, anyone is welcome to wait under there when it's raining and 2. some Sri Lankan dishes are intended to be served room temperature (and we prepare them in small batches as not to waste) because the food is eaten with your hands.
Read moreIt sounds like your roast paan was overcooked. We're friendly folks and would have happily replaced it with another or something else. I notice that you leave quite a few bad reviews for vegan restaurants - have you considered talking with us directly instead? We already have to contend with non-vegans leaving bad reviews simply because we serve vegan food. What are you hoping to accomplish by leaving bad reviews instead of talking to us to provide feedback? It has the added benefit of making sure you enjoy your meal. Just a thought!

I wasn’t sure what to expect as I never experienced Sri Lankan food before.. but this was so good! I had a rice and curry plate and it was MASSIVE. I had two jackfruit dishes, beef, Dahl, and the pumpkin curry and okra which were a daily special. The food was a little salty but the flavors were insane. I also tried the non alcoholic tamarind drink with the homemade ginger beer which unfortunately didn’t do it for me.

I cannot believe how amazing this food was. If you can only go to one spot in the PNW, let this be it. They are in a category of their own with a flavor profile that I’ve not found before.

Come for Brunch!? - Edit
We’ve been several times. The curry of the day is the best. Don’t think too hard and just jump in. And why not get it for breakfast? The location also serves traditional brunch fare, perfect for the less adventurous and kids. The pancakes were amazing. I’ve now been back several times and even hosted a party here. So, yeah, it’s a cool place. One of the best representatives of Portlands unique and diverse vegan scene.

I LOVE Mirisata. They are a Portland gem. The food is higher priced than I would usually pay, but the curry meals are so generous in portions. I have never tasted some of their flavors before coming to their restaurant which is very exciting for me. I highly recommend bringing friends and sharing the family meal! Be sure to try their drinks and desserts too.

I've never had Sri Lankin food, so this place was a fun try. Extensive menu with alcoholic and n/a beverages. Indoor seating and tons of outdoor space.
Read moreI ordered the Rice & Curry Plate (yea I know, I probably went with the most mid dish, but it was still good!) and a housemade lime soda. Enjoyed both. Curry had just a hint of spice, but nothing to detour those that can't handle spice. The soda was very refreshing. I'd overall give the meal 4 stars, but giving 5 due to the fact on Fri and Sat they are open until 12:00am. Portland establishments seem to have a diversion in staying open past 8 or 9, so props to this place for having a great night hangout spot.
Would totally go again and try some other dishes and drinks!

Man this place is delicious omg. The staff is friendly and gives great recs. We went with the house rice curry plate for two and it was great. The deviled pork was awesome, def my favorite! The cheese roti is great too especially with the pork.

I came here with two of my friends and we ended up splitting a platter and getting an additional protein that was black curry "pork" i believe. I had never had black curry before, and omfg it was AMAZING! The platter we got had delicious options and our roti was light and fluffy. The price was also amazing and gratuity is included. I can't stress enough how amazing the food is here, go support them!
