Lovely izakaya near Nagasaki station. Some vegan and vegetarian options on menu although not particularly well signposted so some guesswork is needed!

We found Miraizaka, an izakaya almost at the foot of the staircasse leading down from the overhead bridge coming from the train station but the proprietor apologized that he really only had some edamame and maybe one other vegan option. It really shouldn't be listed on Happy Cow.

Great for vegetarians! - Edit
The menu had a few vegetarian options, but with the help of the staff, most of the dishes could be modified to be vegetarian! I especially loved the fried mushrooms.

Very helpful staff. Ask for Ren - they make a noodle that’s vegan, an egg plant dish and finally some tofu. Apart from that, it’s the usual cucumber and fries and roasted peas. Decent for a vegetarian - coupled with a beer!

Modern izakaya, the tablet has an English menu, with several vegan/soy meat option, which is rare in Japon.

Great options authentic Japenese - Edit
We vegetarians in our group were so happy to be at a restaurant where we actually had to make choices! We couldn't try all the vegetarian options. Great food and good service.
