Tasty modern Vietnamese/fusion food in a strip mall

Located in an unassuming storefront at the Marina Village strip mall, there is plenty of parking but low ambience at Mint Leaf. The staff are kind and they seem to do a brisk to-go business as well as dine in. They were equipped for young children, providing a high chair and plastic dishware. The menu offers lunch specials, including banh mi combos. Reasonable price point.

The menu is helpfully marked with lots of "vegetarian possible" choices (maybe 1/4 of the large menu). But, no one seemed to know the word "vegan" and I'm not 100% confident the food was actually made without any animal products. Other than that issue, the dishes were yummy and many featured a pleasant modern take on Vietnamese classics. Though several plates I had were too oily to be considered healthy, I think you could opt for only fresh things if you wanted to.

I would return if I could gain confidence the cook understands vegan requests.

Pros: Yummy food, Nice servers

Cons: Need reassurance dishes are vegan
