CLOSED: Millers Yard

This is a lovely friendly place tucked away off Gillygate. Had a lovely hummus sandwich there with the hummus flavoured with fennel seed/cumin - really flavoursome. It was served with a mixed salad which made it a meal. Dessert was a very simple date and walnut flapjack. Fairtrade ingredients ann tea/coffee. Good vegan options. Like a great oldfashioned wholefood place with WiFi. Friendly guy called Dylan runs the show. Intend to go there a lot when I am in York.

Millers Yard is a coffee bar and veggie cafe, as well as a centre for positive living. The coffee bar is a great place to relax with friends, the decor is lovely and vibrant. They serve the best coffee in York (fairtrade and organic), along with other refreshments just as freshly squeezed orange juice. They also serve home-made soup with a lovely choice of bread and salad. It's got to be the best soup and salad I've ever had. The staff are really friendly and helpful too.

It's also the place to go if you like Pilates, the instructors are really friendly and are highly qualified. They also offer dance & exercise classes, as well as all sorts of therapies, such as massages and reflexology. If you are in York, it's well worth the visit.
