Good Food, Shady Business Practices - Edit
I love the concept and think it’s important that we shift towards plant-based foods. But their business practices are shady. We booked them for an event only to deal with poor communication, an overcharged invoice (which was later corrected), and a massively late arrival, which affected our entire event. It was also clear that they couldn’t even produce the number of meals promised in the allotted time. No apologies were offered and they refused to give us any of the money back. I so badly want to recommend them based on their much-needed concept, but I just can’t. Go ahead and buy food from the truck if you’d like, but do not book them for an event.

Carolina Dog and the Hola Amiga Dog! - Edit
Just by happenstance, we saw the green food truck in our way home. I was aware of the food truck for a while and wanted to support but it the schedule of locations never seemed to work for me. My husband and I enjoyed the Carolina Dog and the Hola Amiga Dog. (2 for $11). Fairly quick to prepare, friendly service and of course 100% vegan.

All the reviews on their Instagram page had me want to try their food so I drove out of my way to come. It didn’t take long for my food to be ready and I was very excited. As I took my first bit I was just waiting for a bidet of flavor but I did not get that at all. It was just like all of the other vegan spots that I have been to except for a SELECT few no seasoning at all and bland! The only thing that made the food remotely good was their sauce and that wasn’t all that either.

First time eating here. Overall the food was good. I got the “what the cluck” chicken sandwich and a side of chili cheese fries. Couple small things though. #1 menu is super simple and straightforward I’d like it if they stated the brand of burger patty/dog/chik’n they are using. #2 disclaimer!! Super busy (didn’t know there was almost an hour turn around)so this may be why but my bun was a little soggy I personally didn’t care for that. #3 Chik’n patties are thin, which might be why the sandwich has 2 of them. #4 A spicy sauce would’ve put the sandwich over the top but yet again ultimately good. I did hear one of the team members tell a customer they were out of a “special sauce” so that could be why it was missing a sauce. #5 it is more on the expensive side. #6 Chili cheese fries taste like chili cheese fries nothing super special or different.

Mike’s Vegan Cookout is, per the name, an all vegan food truck that specializes in loaded hot dogs and burgers. They will have a peach cobbler available some days. Their food is delicious, if not a bit on the expensive side. But worth it in my opinion.
