Tasty local island spot.

We got two vegan black bean burritos with a side of chips & salsa. The burritos were big and very tasty. The staff was very nice. Limited outdoor seating so we got our food to go. It came hot and fast. Highly recommend!

Pros: Delicious options, several items can be made vegan, bring an old license plate to add to their wall!

Cons: Limited outdoor seating.

Get place for vegans

Miguel’s is a great place for vegans visiting/staying in Dauphin Island. It is actually the only place to get a solid vegan meal, other than pizza topped with veggies. The owner and workers are super friendly and very knowledgeable about what vegan means. They actually know the difference between vegan and vegetarian! They are happy to make things vegan and the owner told me they get a lot of business from vegans. The food is delicious. We got the burritos and they are huge. They owner said they can make all their food vegan. They do not have vegan cheese or vegan meat substitutes, but honestly they pack their burritos so full of pinto beans, black beans, rice, lettuce, onions and red sauce that no vegan meat is necessary. Everything has a fantastic flavor. We will try the tacos next time, as she said they make those with the beans and all the fixings. Atmosphere is nice, outside picnic table seating only, which is fine because, you’re on an island, why would you want to be inside!
