Fantastic vegan charcuterie board - Edit
Oh thank god. We did Napa for New Years to get our dog away from the fireworks (since they are illegal in the area), and while Napa is VERY Dog friendly, it isn't the most vegan friendly (--although we loved yak and yeti). Migration Winery was an unexpected savior in the wine scene, as it is one of two wineries we could find that offered a vegan charcuterie board add-on (the other place is the Clif Family Winery tasting room in St. Helena, which had the same cheese brand, but Migration's was more robust).
Read moreThe charcuterie board came with four wonderful kinds of vegan cheese, which were very far on the softer side -- balsamic fig; mushroom; sundried tomato; and I think cranberry pistachio but I can't totally remember the last one. They all come from a local Napa creamery and aren't widely available (a couple shops in town have some of them). The cheeses were holy crap amazing. Some of the cheeses at Migration weren't available at the local stores or the other winery.
The charcuterie board also included a couple different types of crackers, multiple nuts, fresh and dried fruits, veggies, hummus, mustard, raisins and even vegan baby bell cheese for a harder cheese.
They gave us more wines than were in the tasting (it was 4 wines and we ended up drinking 7 without additional cost) and everyone was incredibly friendly to us and our dog. The vegan charcuterie was honestly the star of the show for us. My boyfriend kept accidentally forgetting about the wine and was sampling the cheeses with all the different accompaniments instead lol. I did enjoy the wine, though!
On the wine front, the hostess replaced the rose when we arrived with a sparkling Chardonnay because she said the rose wasn't vegan. The other wines may or may not have all used vegan filtering processes, but they seemed to have at least some level of awareness on that front.
The charcuterie board needs 24 hours notice minimum since they thaw the cheeses in advance.
For those with dogs, they have a barkuterie board however it is not remotely vegan.
I was very happy with the experience here. Nobody else in Napa appeared to have anything like it (please tell me if I'm wrong as we may be back for NYE next year). I told them they should promote it for Veganuary! #Veganuary
