A ovo-lacto vegetarian cafe opened early-2015 near the Margaret St and Ruthven St scramble crossing. Order from the menu or from the glass case. The vegan options are not marked, so ask. Typical atmosphere for a Toowoomba cafe. Reported closed, Aug 2020.

Amazing!! - Edit
So glad I ate here! The store is beautiful. The staff were so friendly & attentive. I had the green vegetable curry & it was amazing. Perfect for the wet rainy day it was. I also got the vegan sweet & sour chicken to take home for dinner & it's also amazing!

vego cafe with vegan options - Edit
Michelle's Cafe is located in Toowoomba's CBD ... the coffee is very good with soy milk options and the food is well priced, excellent quality with generous servings ... the scramble tofu was the best I have ever had at any restaurant or cafe (including vegetarian and vegan restaurants) ... the staff are very friendly and helpfull with dietary requirements

So happy to find this local gem! - Edit
While trying to eat dinner at a non-vegan local pub, the waitress told us about this place so I found it last Friday and have eaten the scrambled tofu twice since then! Since earlier reviews, vegan options are now clearly marked on the menu and boards as well as the well-stocked counter (okay, I've had the vegan chocolate cupcakes 3 times since last Friday...).
Read moreThe staff are friendly, if you are, and the service is fast. In intend to go back this afternoon for another soy flat white as the coffee is great!
My understanding is that the opening hours are 7 till 3 every day except Saturday, but I'll check again!
The fact they are vegetarian means my normally-omnivorous husband can still have a very satisfying veg version of eggs Benedict while I scoff my vegan scrambled tofu so it's a double bonus as I can eat and be sociable at the same time!
Well done, Michelle's Cafe! Lovin' your work!
Pros: Vegan and Gluten free options clearly marked, Great coffee
Cons: Close at 3pm

Finally an All-vegetarian place in Toowoomba! - Edit
So glad to be able to go somewhere in Toowoomba where there is no chance of meat contamination in the food! Michelle's is a lovely little cafe, very cutely decorated with a nice atmosphere. The staff are friendly and are happy to change things on the menu to make them vegan! I have only been here twice but have really enjoyed my meal both times. I have also had a vegan smoothie which was delicious. It's not a cheap place, the vegan muffins were $5.50 each last time I went in however it's definitely worth going if you're eating out with family/friends for breakfast or lunch. My carnivore sister came with me once and she even raved about the food!

Good food from Toowoomba's only vegetarian café - Edit
After hearing about Toowoomba's only all Vegetarian café, I was pretty excited to try it out. On a lazy Thursday lunchtime, I decided to take my girlfriend to Michelle's Café.
Read moreAs I walked in the front door, I was greeted by a fairly pleasant ambiance. Apart from a little bit of writing on the menu board, nothing there would tell you that it's vegetarian. I had a quick look at the menu, and noticed that Vegan items weren't marked, so I asked the lady behind the counter. She suggested that the Sweet and Sour mock chicken was vegan, or I could have the Laksa with rice noodles instead of the usual egg noodles. Both my girlfriend and I decided to go for the Sweet and Sour mock chicken.
The meals came out pretty quickly. We both enjoyed the meal. The flavours of the dish were very strong, but worked well in the meal. My only complaint was that the mock chicken was a little on the dry side, but nothing that couldn't be remedied by making sure it was covered in the sauce.
Overall, I'm very glad this place exists. The food is good, and the atmosphere is nice. It doesn't quite live up to the Vegetarian and Vegan restaurants in the major cities, but it definitely scores bonus points for being the only Vegetarian place in Toowoomba. The prices are pretty much standard for Toowoomba Café fare. I do wish there were more Vegan dishes on the menu, and it would be great if they were marked as such, but overall definitely worth the visit.
Pros: Good food, Only all vegetarian place in Toowoomba
Cons: Not many vegan options, Vegan options not marked
