El mejor sitio para comer de toda la Axarquía - Edit
Lo descubrimos mi parejas y yo casi por casualidad gracias a Happy Cow y a una dura ruta en bici por aquellos pueblos. Nos llamó poderosamente la atención un restaurante vegano en una población tan chica así que decidimos pasarnos por mera curiosidad aún a sabiendas de que a la hora que pasaríamos estaría cerrado (10h).
Read moreLa ubicación nos cautivó desde el principio, estrechas callejuelas puro blanco, pero además la suerte quiso que, llegando nosotros justo, Kinga y David, sus artifices, salían del local. Una breve charla con ambos nos bastó para saber que teníamos que volver sí o si.
Efectivamente, al día siguiente volvimos para cenar junto con mis padres. La experiencia fue tan buena que lo único que nos arrepentimos fue no haberlos conocido antes y haber podido llevar a toda la familia que nos reunimos un par de días antes.
El trato realmente cálido de Kinga unido a un local increíblemente charm y cool, buena música (quizás ligeramente alta) todo alrededor del gran protagonista, la deliciosa cocina de David, forma todo ello un cóctel irresistible. Tomamos alas de coliflor, huevos de aguacate, sushi y Beyond Burger's salchicha y hamburguesa mas unos suculentos brownies con nuez de postre. Todo con una presentación simple pero elegantes, porciones adecuadas (los starters quizás algo escuetos) y sabor y textura maravillosos.
A modo de bonus añadir que él edificio, bellísimo, data del SXVIII con detalles interesantísimos. También han sido seleccionados por The Guardian como uno de los mejores 20 restaurantes veganos de Europa, calificándolos de hidden gem. Por último, a escasos 100m del restaurante hay una de las más bellas y bien conservadas torres mudéjares que jamás haya visto yo

Amazing food :) - Edit
We made the way, walking from Competa to Archez especially to check out this place. Our expectations were even surpassed. Meson Mudejar is a cozy place, no matter wether sitting inside or having a seat on the little outside tables watching the typical Spanish street life, quite relaxed in this period. We ordered different courses and different meals, experiencing a variety which is very rare as far as vegan cuisine is concerned. Every single dish was a chef d'oeuvre in itself, well dosed in spices, perfectly equilibrated between natural soberness and "Raffinesse".

The service is welcomingly friendly, always there to help and to inform so that you can relax in a perfect atmosphere.
We highly recommend this place and wish all the luck and success to the Meson Mudejar team, which it really deserves!

La carta cuenta con entrantes, principales, tapas y postres (estos últimos van variando). Pedimos tres entrantes, un principal y un postre para compartir entre dos, con una bebida cada uno y café. Pagamos veinte euros cada uno.
La comida nos encantó, sabores equilibrados. Presentación muy correcta, simple y bonita.
¡Recomendamos!

Fab meal! - Edit
Just had fab vegan meals at Meson Mudejar. Starters, onion bhajas and cauliflower wings. Main course, a locally based chick pea /spinach etc with bread and a tufu stir fry with rice. Followed by a lemon cheesecake. Tea & coffee. Oh and we started off with 2 very healthy vegetable/fruit juices. All delicious. Highly recommend. A leisurely meal as meals should be.

Vegan Mountain Hideaway - Edit
Recommended highly on the Vegan Travel Facebook group, I was dying to try this place for ages! I had three days on the beach near Torrox and took the “long scenic route” to my destination, in order to try their food. It was a Sunday and they were open from 12-4. It’s the quaintest little place with quirky decor and a cute spanish patio area inside. It was very social. I was alone and had a really lovely time chatting to others. The menu offered a choice of world food and they also have the Beyond Meat burgers. I had breaded homemade seitan pieces with homemade ranch dressing for starter. I loved the soft seitan, it can often be a bit chewy. The ranch was good. These would also work well with chilli sauce! For my main course I had Kung Pao Tofu & Veg Stir-fry. I had to wait for both courses and it was plainly obvious that the chef is literally cutting everything up and cooking it freshly for each customer. It’s been a long time since I had such a good stir-fry. The tofu had been infused with a spicy sauce and there was such a great assortment of veggies - I particularly loved the tiny broad beans and the long ribbons of carrot. This place is a real hidden gem.

The best vegan food ever!!!! - Edit
My Boyfriend and I found this gem thanks to happy cow and went there yesterday. We shared 3 starters, cauliflower, onion fritters and the seitan strips and we were amazed by the first bite already. You really smell that everything is made fresh. As main we had the falafel plate (wow wow wow!!!) and my bf went for the beyond burger and he was amazed and said its literally the best burger he ever had. The couple running the place is really nice, we had a great talk with David, the chef and we loved it. We will def. be back latest in one year:-) Thanks so much for this awesome experience!

Great vegan food where you least expect it! - Edit
What a nice place! Located in a really nice and mediterranean area, this place is conducted by a super sweet and kind couple! They offer vegan shakes, a good choice in starters, awesome mains and really great sounding dessert, which we couldn’t try, cause we were so full...! We’ve had several starters, like cauliflower wings and seitan „chicken“ stripes. They also offer a burger with beyond meat patty, which we all know is out of this world! Had a really nice evening there!

Very cute place with cute furniture in a cute area! - Edit
Very nice vegan restaurant with so many yummy choices it was difficult to decide what to order! Both my dad and I went for a curry and, although he usually hates tofu, we both loved it a lot! I would love to come here more often, but it is quite isolated and far removed from our B&B and other sight-seeing or hiking areas.

A hidden gem, a small village in the mountains, but a great vegan spot. Lots of choices, deliciously cooked. Small courtyard, great food. Been there with non vegan friend who also like the food. Tip the cauliflower for starters.

What a lovely surprise! - Edit
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner from an all vegan menu, had a chat with the very nice couple who runs the restaurant, and a pleasant 30-45 minute drive up from the coast; great views and good roads. When it’s hot down by the sea it is a little cooler up there, while retaining the fresh breeze from the sea. Good food, great service and a nice trip there. To be recommended - we will most certainly be back!

The restaurant offers various sitting areas (indoor, indoor patio and outside) all nicely decorated.
We had a lovely lunch with good wine and super desserts at the right price for this area.
Upstairs they offer B&B service.
The drive from my place was well worth the visit a Meson Mudejar and I can't wait to go again.

Komplett vegane Speisekarte. Verschiedene Vorspeisen und Hauptgerichte. Ein paar Gerichte waren aus. Eine kurvenreiche Strecke führt in den kleinen Ort, aber die Fahrt lohnt sich! Freundliches bemühtes Personal. Es gibt auch fünf Zimmer zum Übernachten.

The Very Best Spanish Restaurant - Edit
This is the best hidden gem we had the pleasure of finding. Passionate people cooking fresh vegan foods from the heart. It is in a stunning location and although the road is very winding it is totally worth the journey and the views are amazing all around. The village is also very beautiful and local people were very welcoming and friendly. Everything we were served was excellent, full of flavours to die for! Would highly recommend to anyone, not just vegans as there is something on the menu for every taste bud. You won’t be disappointed😄Truly Inspirational People ❤️

Having eaten at this beautiful restaurant twice set in the gorgeous village of Archez, we are amazed at the exceptional quality of the vegan food combined with superb hospitality from David and Kinga. We received a wonderful welcome. The menu provided a selection of options in order to cater for a variety of preferences including gluten free. The food was home cooked and delicious, with each course being a sheer delight. It is difficult to highlight one particular meal as it was all incredible. We can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough to all who appreciate good food. This restaurant is a must and has become top of our list. Thank you David and Kinga for providing such an incredible vegan feast.
