Small portions for a lot of money

I know vegan options are limited so it's great that there's something. But 10 euro's for some veggies in a salty soy sauce feels like a rip off. Especially for a pilgrim who's burning 1500 kcal a day and needed a good lunch. It shouldn't be that hard, just add some rice, pasta or potatoes. I told the waiter this, gave them some advice to make their meals more filling but he just lifted his shoulders.
