Great for a warm cozy metal

There are many options. And, I found many things to eat as a vegan. The squash soup may not be vegan but it is savory comfort food.

Pros: Vegan options , Great service , Clean bathroom.

Cons: Something are a little more saltier than I like

Good food, big portions, vegan items listed

Got the Banane Pesée (fried plantains served with spicy coleslaw) appetizer and the Vegetable Combo (all three lentil dishes, collard greens, tikil gomen, and salad). Both were great and just those was enough for two people.

Vegan options are listed on the menu with a "V" I asked if the ones with "V" were vegetarian or entirely vegan and the waitress said they are vegan. Some have a "VG" which must be vegetarian. They also have a vegetarian section on the menu.

Some of the vegan options listed are:

APPETIZERS

Caribbean Fritters
Grated taro root seasoned with fresh herbs, pan fried served with cilantro sauce.

Banane Pesée
Fried plantains served with spicy coleslaw

ENTREE

Vegetable Combo
Combination of all three lentil dishes, collard greens, tikil gomen, and salad

Asmara Pasta
Eritrean style portobello mushroom ragout tossed in with spinach and spaghetti

Shiro
Blended Chick Peas with Tomatoes, Onion, Garlic, Olive Oil, and Spices

Ingudai Tibs
Portobello mushrooms sautéed with tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, garlic, and berbere

Misir Wot
Red lentils slowly cooked with minced onions, fresh ground garlic, and berbere

Love it!

The food at a Mesob is incredible! I highly recommend fried plantains (the slaw is spicy) to start and collard greens and yellow lentils for your entree. Enjoy!

Pros: Great food, Convenient hours and location, Friendly staff

Cons: The menu does not show which items are vegan
