So many delicious options here! I love the sides options too - I balanced out my noodle dish with some steamed broccoli and felt extra virtuous!

Often good - Edit
Their vermicelli and house rice claypot were very good. The so sea mock fish was overcooked, and the sauce was off, not enough ginger. Other items have been hit or miss.

Hm, I expected more… - Edit
I hate to give a mediocre rating to a vegan restaurant but just adding a lot of mock meat to a meal doesn‘t make it good. From my point of view the food was much to greasy and not as flavourful as I expected it from asian cuisine and after all of the great reviews.
Read moreNormally I‘m not squeamish at all and I eat a lot and I really really hate to throw food away but I couldn‘t eat much of it.

Merit Vegan is Awesome - Edit
I usually get Merrit Vegan as take out, but when I’ve eaten inside, I’ve always been greeted by friendly employees and gotten great service. During the holidays, there are sometimes vegan cookies for sale that are excellent!
Read moreMy favorite dishes are the jalapeño seitan and clay pot rice. The jalapeno seitan has a savory spicy sauce that I could eat just by itself. The clay pot rice is delicious and has so many textures from rice, tofu and vermicelli.
The best dish to order when you eat in is the spicy noodle soup. It’s filling and perfect on a cold day. Another great dish is the steamed bun. These are huge, one can be shared as an appetizer or eaten for breakfast. I always order a couple for the next day.

Overly good food and overly good service - Edit
I always feel like this place is run with aerospace precision. Every detail is looked after. The food is fantastic and the location is good considering the fairly sparse vegan desert of Sunnyvale / Santa Clara.

Pleasant lunch visit - Edit
I shared an order of pho and herbal divine with a friend. Each dish was really large, so just those two were more than enough for both of us. I was drawn by the description of goji berry and jujube in the herbal divine, it had a nice gingery touch as well. Pleasant experience.

Super Healthy Asian Vegan Food! - Edit
I was able to find a dish without onion and garlic which is not always easy. I’m not sure about the broth, but the main ingredients had none. It was very quick and had a pleasant atmosphere. I’m very pleased!

OG Vegan Spot in the South Bay - Edit
Update: Ordered via phone as I was with my fur pal and they don’t have outdoor seating, friendly service by phone, pick-up was easy and you can tell their food is still yummy because it was FULL (on a holiday)!
Read moreUpon arriving home, I thoroughly enjoyed the Fresh Spring Rolls and Chow Mein! I can’t wait for dessert this evening (Carrot Cupcake w/Side Frosting).
Areas of Improvement: Status of building (exterior looks abandoned and local area could use some TLC) also highly recommend switching ALL take away items to compostable as some were PET 1 and others were 100% compostable but food was given in thin plastic bags that couldn’t be untied/reused.
Original: Haven’t been in quite sometime but I’m loving the fact they are thriving and today when I was clearing out, I found an old take away menu! That speaks volumes!
Fondest memories here, when I was the only vegan in the office and non-vegans would be excited to come here for lunch!
Update to come next time I’m in the area! #Veganuary

Pros: All Vegan OG Spot, Vegan/Non-Vegan Approved, Delicious Food (Just How I Remembered)
Cons: Spendy, Exterior Building/Plaza Dated (Needs TLC), Recommend Switching to 100% Compostable Items

Fast and tasty! - Edit
The food came out quickly and was very good. I ordered the Vegetable Chow Fun and I really enjoyed. There were a variety of vegetables, and they were cooked and seasoned well. They provided several hot “sauce” options on the table that complimented the food nicely as well. The food was fairly priced for the portion size too. I definitely recommend and will be going back!

Great Merits for Asian Vegan - Edit
The menu has so much to offer including lots of specials that looked delicious. Everything comes with a photo so you can really find something just based on how it looks.
Read moreStarted with their Fresh Spring Rolls ($8) and their 'Drumsticks' ($9). The spring rolls were great and jam packed with veggies, tofu, and seitan, accompanied by a tasty peanut sauce. The drumsticks were quite fun to enjoy as we tried to figure out what they're made from (maybe taro or soy?) Either way, it was a crunchy, crispy treat. Pass on the dipping sauce.
Our entrees included their Gourmet Deluxe ($14) and the Banh Xeo Vietnamese Pancake ($14). I asked for less salt and they were able to accommodate. The gourmet deluxe was pretty good - spicy stir-fried soy protein with garlic, salt, and pepper, accompanied with some broccoli florets. While good, I wish there were more veggies on the side personally. The banh xeo was great here as well for a vegan version. I felt the batter could have had more flavor but it was still great, and they provided plenty of lettuce, mint, and cilantro for your wrapping pleasure.
The manager(?) was super friendly and came around to our tables with such positivity and liveliness despite it being busy. Our individual server did her best to keep up with all the tables and was even able to split our check by doing some quick math before taking our cards. Can't be mad at that kind of service.
Pros: Extensive vegan Asian menu, Plenty of parking, Large dining area

Hurry up eat, pay and get out! - Edit
Upon arrival, the environment was chaotic. Staff were running into each other yelling directions but no one knew what to do it seemed like. They need to be better trained on how to treat customers as well. My family felt very rushed and unwelcomed after a couple waiters came by the table and crowded us for payment as we were still eating. It was odd because the lady waiter kept shoving the bill in my face ignoring my dad and husband who were asking for the bill with thier hands out. I was wiping my toddler's hands at the moment. The food although there were a good amount of choices, was mediocre. One of the specials we got was super salty and one was a fried dish but the batter came out mushy and not crisp. The noodles and appetizer bun were decent.
Read morePros: Good diversity of food offerings, Parking is decent, Dessert menu is plentiful

Unimpressed - Edit
This review is biased by the fact that I’m currently in Sunnyvale for a work trip and I don’t drive so I’m cranky at how terrible it is to be a pedestrian in this town. I had to resort to delivery from the nearest vegan place, a 3 mile walk away. I got the brown rice plate and it was way too sweet. I didn’t like it. I also tried the fresh spring rolls. They were eatable but the peanut sauce was not good, thin and barely tasted like peanut at all. It was also very sweet.
Read moreI might have enjoyed this more if I was going out with friends but not for a crummy night alone in a hotel in a place I hate to be.
Pros: The only vegan place in Sunnyvale
Cons: Too sweet, little flavor
