I really like the salad, but it does feel a little expensive for something that’s mostly kale, especially if it’s not organic

Beautiful Gem! - Edit
Merci Montecito is a beautiful space in the Country Mart just across the walkway from Vons. It's light colors and clean lines are welcoming and soothing. It definitely evokes the feeling of a Parisian cafe. The seed bread toast with vegan butter and homemade jam is divine, there is always at least one vegan cookie or pastry, and what I also love is that there is no penalty fee for sustainable and cruelty-free plant milk for their delicious coffee drinks! You can pick up picnic fare for the nearby beach or dinner to go, again vegan options available!
